Welp, moving into another weekend. Anyone got some wins?

Mine is that I’ve got a nice, hopefully, relaxing 4 day weekend.

I saved a tortoise that fell into my basement window well. He was given the name “Pizza” and he now lives free in the woods behind my house.

Adam, Saikiran, and I hit our 1-year-since-joining-581 anniversary this week!
The team hasn’t historically met over the summer, but this summer we’ve been meeting up a storm. Students are participating in structured multi-day trainings, designing a new offseason robot (assembly starting in July), attending outreach events, making improvements to our 2023 season robot, and more.
Can’t wait to get another year on the books.

Purchased my first new vehicle. Is this what being an adult is like ? :grimacing:

(In all fairness though managed to get an ok deal considering vehicles and the economy. Now I am in control of my own rust destiny (IL and MI use way too much salt, rust belt for multiple reasons. All the vehicles falling apart still couldn’t save auto manufacturing) )

Copycat  (OK, that’s aimed at me.)

Wrapped up a week of testing stuff. So far, we’ve made major improvements. Now to make more… until we decide it’s time to shoot the engineers and make them do something else so we can sell this thing!

More wins to come soon…

Successfully migrated over 20 years of organization files from on an on prem file server to the cloud. Just hours ago, I got the last few users up to speed. In a few weeks, I’ll completely decommission the server it lived on.

Looking ahead, while I don’t get a four day weekend like @Andrew_Schreiber and @EricH, I was able to convince the powers that be to let me update the network on Monday and have everyone else work from home. So I get a day to work in peace, and all of my coworkers owe me one. That’s a win-win.

I’m in the realm of 7 day weekends. (Sorry… not sorry)

Got preliminary CTE credential notice. I can now officially teach all the things I’ve been doing informally for the last 13 years. But I also need to do an 8 week course through the dept of ed.

Rewaxed two surfboards today.

I cleaned my balcony finally - it’s been a long time since I cleaned it so I hadn’t used it much. I fell asleep for a while last night on my swinging bench out there watching shows on my laptop

I returned to the gym also this week - and the gym’s terrace looks out at the city’s square horizons like this:

It’s been Kurban Bayramı, so mostly I’ve had a nice week of relaxing, enjoying TV and video games, some extra clean up around the home, I’m finally adjusting my sleep schedule back to Turkish time.

My cats were watching the sunset together last night from the interior balcony, that was hella cute

My wife and I made a short trip to Grand Rapids this week. We met with my brother for supper, and then the next day went to John Ball Zoo and the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

(To kind of link it to robotics, we stayed at the same hotel I stayed in when MSC was in GR.)
