Sorry for being late - last few days have been days so my “what day is it” schedule is off. (I’ll level with you, I thought yesterday was Sunday)
I think we know the game - what happened this week that you want to celebrate?
My win, I’ve actually been maintaining a mostly stable sleep schedule (which for me is rare) and have only seen 3am once in the last few weeks. And that wasn’t because I couldn’t sleep.
I got through another week. Right now preparing for the Savannah Bannas to come to the baseball stadium where I work. Personal- I get to go see Gabriel Iglesias on Thursday
Survived my first week at my new job, which is nice. Artfight also started up so I’ve gotten back into drawing again and remembered how much I actually love doing it lol.
Also haven’t been spending more time with friends which is great.
I travelled with my parents to see the European Premier FTC Event. It was quite exciting. I made some new friends while here, and got to see lots of existing friends. And I was able to ride a bike back and forth to my hotel in peace. I normally ride a bike in İstanbul, but the Netherlands is obviously on a different level. The cities are sooooo peaceful, because there are sooooo few cars. you can talk to the person next to you when walking and you don’t have to yell, etc. This is how city streets should be designed.
On that note, I registered for ArtFight again. Thanks for that reminder on something I did this week!
Had a couple of appointments for things, but also got the hub motor off of the escooter along with the ESC. No idea what I might do with it right now, but there are a few ideas. Before I did that I made some adapters to run the scooter off of wall power and an extension cord which was very funny to look at and try to drive. Horrendously underpowered but fun nonetheless.
I have been working on expanding a short story of mine as well. Nothing is written but it has been fun being more creative again. Also wrote my IRI essay.
I sorted out the details of a cat litterbox hiding chest which can later convert to a bench/blanket chest via some replaceable end panels. At the end of the day I get a nice custom solid wood piece for a cut list of 16 pieces at ~$200 in materials. I likely won’t build this until I am back in ND, but it is nice to know I have the details sorted out so it is just execution as an afternoon project, or a few evenings.
I got assigned my college roommates and we all followed each other on instagram. Now it’s time for the hard part of actually talking to them…
This week felt good but I’m struggling to come up with specific wins. It was overall just a nice reprieve from the usual dullness of my weeks, hanging out with friends and stuff.
I will no longer be able to complain “I don’t even have a kid” as a coach. While I will miss that ability, this is one of the greatest wins of my life. We found out towards the beginning of May and have been busy preparing, learning, visiting doctors, etc.
Today I am finally able to share with my preferred social media (CD) and no longer keep it a secret! So that’s definitely my weekly win. I also can finally tell the team as well!
Expected due date is 1 day before FRC Kickoff 2026! This has delayed me on GamifyFRC and some team activities a little bit, but it’s worth it. Still working on that stuff, just at a much slower pace currently.
