For me, I made a lot more progress on a personal project. Still just in sim while I wait on motors to show up but I got inverse kinematics and gait generation working. Then when I brought the whole model (well, the parts that are pertinent to simulation) into sim I screwed up all my offsets and it made me realize I need to account for them in the config/IK code. But gait generation should allow adjustment of gait speed and direction on the fly which I’m really proud of.
Nah, SSR is a Beetleweight bot Charles Guan of Overhaul fame built a few years ago - Stance Stance Revolution – Equals Zero This looks remarkably like a much larger version of that. (or not larger, idk scale is hard yo)
Yeah I know, its just there have been occasions where Battlebots forced a name change due to potential legal issues, so this is a backup color scheme and theming in case of that happening. SSR is explicitly a reference to DDR and all that. It is a scaled version, from left to right, a 5:1 scale of the original cad, v1 of a heavyweight cad, v2 of the heavy (the one with the alternate color scheme), and the original cad:
We had to put titan down on very short notice a few weeks back, and we were all pretty gutted. My wife and I got him after 2011 champs when we lived in a shack together in college. He’s actually named after the 2011 robot, which came from the at the time obsession of 973 to watch remember the Titans over and over.
Titan has made a bunch of background appearances in various reveals, etc… So he’s been “first famous” for a while… I really appreciated the outpourings of support after his passing from this community.
The week after we lost his jerk of a brother dash, who was kind of an grumpy guy but we loved him the same.
Team got MaxSwerve up and running. After forever doing tank the kids were thrown for a loop using field reference drive. They’ll get used to it.
Found out FIRST is pretty lenient with payments. Our district’s PO to pay for champs was never actually fulfilled… and we still went to champs. FIRST never contacted me or anyone at the district. But, it is getting paid now and we won’t get a bill latter this year.
