Is robotics more memes or what?
*Shortened from original

“How much spaghetti can your robot hold?” This was asked of me at a 2018 offseason event by a pit scout from a team we’ve known for a very long time. Normally I’d make up a random snarky answer for such a question but I gave this one some serious thought. Together the scout and I decided that about 200 was a reasonable number of spaghetti.

“What is First Robotics”
“Basically we drive robots that weigh as much as I do and perform tasks. Like this year (2018) we run around and pick up blanketed milk crates and earn points.”
“So it’s not battlebots?”
“No we don’t throw hundreds of dollars at a robot after every match for your amusement.”

Pit scouting is the most key part of determining the capabilities of other teams.
