Hello, I am currently training our drive team for off-season competitions. Some of the drivers for Girls Gen have not been a part of the season. I was wondering if you guys had any matches that drivers drove particularly well and I can show them and help teach them how to drive. I plan on watching it with them and going through things that drivers did particularly well or in some cases not good, and what they should do if they are in those scenarios.
Any 1619 match (at Colorado at least): their driver was phenomenal. Particularly applicable if you’re running swerve.
1678 matches are always a blast to watch. It was an honor to be able to take the field with them on hopper. 1690 is also incredibly smooth but obviously they have move and shoot.
I really liked 2056 this year. Even with a non-swerve drivetrain, their driving made them just as competitive (or better) than the swerve bots, which is great evidence for why good drivers are just as important as good parts.
Personally, 4 teams come to mind. 1678 and 2910 both have some of the most mobile bots this year, and their drivers are incredibly experienced in pushing their robots to their limits. If you are looking for a tank drive to reference, I think 973 jumps out immediately as one of the most under control robots in frc. If you are looking for a good pick and place team to watch, 1323 in 2019 was absolutely frightening
973, any year, any match.
I’m quite partial to Chezy Champs 2021 Final 1, I think it’s quite possibly the best match of Infinite Recharge.
1690, 973, 4414, and 2910 are absolute powerhouses on offense, and 4499 and 1868 play some great zone defense.
If you’re looking for tank driving, 3538 always seems to have phenomenal driving. Puts on a clinic on how to drive a tank bot
For driver training, you may want to look into the ‘behind the glass’ segments that FUN have posted here. These are a great way to experience the match from the driver’s perspective and to understand the objectives and challenges that the driver’s are discussing so that you can really understand why they are doing what they are doing.

When your offensive mechanisms break you’re left with defense. This wasn’t the only time we had to play defense but the only video I could find. We always about had a heart attack for the climb but the driver usually got SirLanceABot up in time as it did in this video. (Team 4237 Team LanceABot)
4237 plays defense again

I second 3538, You would assume it is a swerve bot their driver is so good
I’d also say that 27 during the 2022 season was great at driving.
