What are the odds!

I was here sitting thinking about how cool it would be if my team’s robot got into the top 16. I thought to myself, hey the odds aren’t too bad. Each team has a 1 in 13.75 chance of making it into the top 16 if there are 220 teams there. So 13.75 to 1 odds are better odds then you get with most things. Then I was thinking what the odds would be to name all the 16 teams that make the elimination rounds by coming in the top 16 and the odds were astonishing!! I’m not gonna write out the whole number because it would take up alot of space and i don’t think that is needed, but to give you an idea here is the odds is scientific notation:

1 in 1.7222939 X 10 to the 37th power

This means if you move the decimal point over 37 spaces, adding zeroes at the end, then you will get the total number of possible outcomes that could happen. You have better odds of getting struck by lightning twice, in the same spot, in a span of 24 hours. And people think the lottery is tough to win!!! just something to think about. See all you guys in Florida. Good luck to everyone!
