What are your priorities?

I had been wondering about posting this for a while, but another discussion led me to actually post it.

What are your priorities in life?

Mine turn out something like this:

  1. Health–if I croak, everything else is kinda irrelevant.
  2. Family–I kinda do like them.
  3. School–call me the long-term type
  4. WUSC and FIRST–I place them equally, since one occasionally will trump the other (a preseason meeting for a DJ meeting, or my show for Robot Rodeo, for example).
  5. Preston College–there are 25 residence halls on campus, plus multiple off-campus options. I happen to enjoy Preston, and I do what I can to stay involved in it (as I do have to re-apply for next year).

Let’s hear the list!

Well, currently my priorities are not what I want them to be:

  1. Robotics
  2. Robotics
  3. Robotics
  4. Robotics
  5. Robotics
  6. School & grades
  7. Family

Health is nowhere close to it, I’m surviving on no sleep this week because of exams:ahh:

And here is what I would like my priorities to be[obviously never going to happen]:

  1. Health
  2. School & studies
  3. Family
  4. Robotics
  1. Robotics
  2. My health and that of of Girlfirend and other firends
  3. School, i only have three classes for the rest of the year.
  4. Family
    5-100 Robotics again
  1. having fun
  2. not not having fun
  3. enjoying life
  4. making as many other people’s lives just as enjoyable.
  1. Having fun…what else are you supposed to do during life…absolutely nothing.
  2. Friends/Family
  3. My car
  4. School (cause I’m having fun…and it will allow me to have more fun in the future)
  5. Robotics

You will never find health on my list. If I die tomorrow I want to know that I have enjoyed my life to its fullest. I can die tomorrow or a hundred years from now and it won’t make a lick of difference because nothing matters except having fun. The rest of the things on my list assist in #1.

1.Family and friends
2. Living life to the fullest
3. Robotics
4. College
5. Having fun
6. Being me

Darn it… Bharat beat me to it…

  1. Friends and Family.
  2. Robotics.
  3. Robotics.
  4. Robotics.
  5. Robotics.
  6. Robotics.
  7. Robotics.
  8. Robotics.
  9. Robotics.
  10. Robotics.
  11. School.

For the next 4 months:

1.) Robotics
2.) Graduating (which consists of grades, getting my senior project done, and finishing my portfolio)
3.) Working

For the summer:
1.) Getting a car
2.) Working
3.) Taking trig at the Junior College

And there may be some family mixed in there somewhere…

It’s been hard wired into our brains on my team.

1.School
2.Family
3.Robotics

  1. Family, friends and boyfriend
  2. School
  3. Work
  4. Robotics

Hmmm… this is a toughy.

  1. Don’t do anything stupid to hurt myself or get sick (so I can fly often)
  2. Keep my supervisor happy during my co-op job/get good grades in college (afford to fly)
  3. Stay fit, run every day, learn how to control my muscles through karate class or yoga (so I will be better at flying)
  4. Stay involved with FIRST (gotta do something fun when weather is bad)
  5. Do something cool every weekend (have more stories to share with people who fly)

*Basically, be content that if I were to die on any given day; that I would have no regrets. I’ll know that I’ve done the best with the time given; no longer how long or how short.

And my #1 priority is!!!
(take a wild guess  )

  1. School
  2. Work (trying to get raise/slight promotion/more hours)
  3. Boyfriend/Friends
  4. My involvement in Alpha Gamma Delta and Alpha Phi Omega
  5. Saving up money
  6. My happiness
  1. Physics students in robotics who play chess.
  2. Physics students in robotics.
  3. Physics students
  4. Students
  5. Health
  6. Sanity

Here we go!

  1. School
I immerse myself in schoolwork. Yah, it hurts romance relationships a good deal. Kids, if you wanna fall in love  don’t study cancer during highschool and get addicted to your lab :stuck_out_tongue: like I am doing.

  2. Family
Huge commitment for me. My closest family lives here in Indiana, and the next closest lives in New Jersey. Then onto Israel, Europe, etc. I am doing my best to stay in touch, and work and do what I can.

  3. My friends
This really ties into robotics, since so many of my friends are in it. However, in general, friends are of huge importance.

  4. Health
This is really important, but sometimes, you just gotta give up that extra hour of sleep to study. I try not to, and I drink water to make up for it. I’m fortuante to keep an extremely healthy diet and have really good build and be in good shape, but I do love Cinnabon so…

5-100) To echo Kyle…ROBOTICS!

Not to be confused with my life goals:

  1. Get more hugs
  2. Get taller

1 is health for me I have had cancer twice but i am not sure after that because evryone including my robotics community wass there for me even when I didn’t think i needed them.

Since I’m turning 20 it seems that now is a good time to evaluate my priorities

  1. Spend quality time with my two < 4 year old sisters
  2. Have fun with friends whenever possible
  3. Enjoy my work (chem + bio classes and Resident Assisting)
  4. Get a research position and figure out if it’s really what I want to do
  5. Nail down that 3.8 gpa and go to a prestigious grad school
  6. Stop breaking my toes
  7. Stay in shape as much as possible (110 in Phoenix is too hot for running, blech)
  8. Find a cute girl who’s both interested and interesting
  9. Go to both Disneyland and Disney World sometime in the next two years

Robotics doesn’t really fit in there, it’s so sad… maybe next year I’ll get a team going up in the mountains.

hmmm this is interesting…

for the summer:

  1. Work
–i’ve got an internship at NASA at the age of 16, the last thing i want to do is screw that up
  2. Family/Friends
    – they’re both pretty equal, but family does come a little before friends
  3. Robotics!!
–yes, i’ve already been working on stuff for 2006 robotics! but seeing as robotics is under work… i cant attend IRI. :frowning: owell, tis a small price to pay for getting paid and having something awesome on your resume.
  4. Health
[to an extent] --ok, when i say health, we all know i really mean playing DDR at least once or twice a week. i dont really worry about my health that much, just as long as i eat right (for the most part… a snickers bar or a bag of skittles here and there never hurt anyone) and enjoy my life in general.
  5. Getting my drivers lisence
–so i can get a car.

during the school year though, priorities change… for the most part they run like this, but during build season and competition season, things sometimes run a little differently.

  1. School
–learning takes priority, since i cant really do much in life without knowing what i’m doing, and then good grades come second. i’m not so worried about my grades, but rather that i’m learning. if you learn, then good grades just come naturally
  2. Robotics
–nuff said. i cant do much in robotics without knowing what i’m doing… hence #1.
  3. Family/Friends
–like before, family is a little above friends
  4. [strike]Homework[/strike] haha if only it was this far down and not linked with #1… actually, this one is Health
–and it means SLEEP, because i usually dont have enough time to do much else other than the above listed

and just in general for life: school, work, family, robotics. yes robotics is at the end of the list, but thats because i can always come back after i’m old and have had a full and incredible life, and i can volunteer and help dave out with the new Game whatnot. ^.^ sure robotics is awesome, but you cant really lose your head while being involved in it. trust me, i’m addicted to FIRST, but i’m not going to jeopardize my future due to blind attachment to the wonderful program. just be careful not to overdo it.

  1. Health of my Family/friends/boyfriend… if they are sick my life just isnt as much fun.
  2. Work… I need to make money to go to school
  3. School… It dictates the rest of my life… maybe I should make it one of my top priorities.
  4. Robotics
  5. Junior State of America
  6. Cheerleading
