Summer, ah, what a great time, nothing like being bit by bugs, getting roasted, and then on top of all of that, having the best times of ure life! Just as a little question, what have u guys and gals been doing? Myself for instance, i went to Maine, did some rock climbing and sea kyacking. So hit me back with what u guys did!!!
well i just got back from visiting a friend from team 247 in Michigan… whom i met initially on this site while i was there we went canoeing, hiking, bike riding, swimming, shopping, and tried to go “bunny punting” as he called it :P…lol. We also went to a place called Greenfield Village, visited the University of Michigan, IRI (where i made some new friends from team 48 and 301…luv ya Dianne!! ;)), hung with friends, watched movies, and most imprtantly… we made memories!!
now as for the rest of my summer? i plan on getting a job, doing some work in ROTC and going on a few trips to military bases and stuff, visting the gym at least once a week, and getting lots of rest in preparation for SENIOR YEAR!! YAY!!
i hope everyone else has a great summer too!
For our birthdays this year my closest, “bestest” friend and I decided to go skydiving (Tandem jump, which is recommended for first time jumps). The way we saw it was, we’re Geminis, which is an air sign, we were meant to fly! Because of bad weather we actually went two weeks after our birthday weekend, but we did do it. We jumped from the plane at 14,000 feet and did a free-fall for 55 seconds (which at 120 miles means we fell for close to 2 miles). The only word I can think of to describe it is amazing, but it was beyond that. Here’s a not so good picture of me in free-fall
We’re already trying to think of what we can do for our birthdays next year… she wants to go hang gliding, I want to go spelunking… maybe we should toss a coin.

definately spelunking, caves own! except if you get lost…and your flashlight slowly runs out of batteries…and its dark…and you have no food…or water…and your gradualy gong insane…
so far, all i’ve done this summer is cycling in the florida panhandle, visiting the florida keys, and disney world.
o Working the 6-10 hours a week Sears gives me. o Occasionally visiting Ricky Q. in Oconomowoc. o Volunteering at IRI. o Going to New Jersey for my grandma’s funeral type thing. o Going to New York to visit Mike, Maddie, Evan and whoever else I can get a hold of. o Going to Pennsylvania to go 4-wheeling in the mountains! o Getting ready for my senior year – applying for scholarships, getting my college aps ready, etc. o Working on sponsorship for the new FIRST team I’m trying to start. o Occasionally sleeping.
Sat in $2000 seats for free and saw most of the Democrat Presidential nominees debate and met John Kerry. Ok, it might not be “cool” to most people but it was Christmas for a political junkie like.
In about a month, I can add to this list visiting France and Sweden.
Well so far the only exciting thing I have done was gone to see the Blue Man Group The Complex Tour which was awesome. And hopefully in about a week or so I will be getting my driving permit.
I’ll just tell you in a month and a half when school gets into session.
No, no. That would ruin it wouldn’t it? I did a couple:rolleyes: things…
…I went ocean kayaking in North Carolinia (Outer banks)
…Had an amazingly fun family reunion which included pillaging the kitchen with my cousins and eating all the food in the house while enjoying the rec. room (VCR, cable TV, Pool table, Hot tub, Pool, and my cousins Xbox (Halo only ).
…Did I mention that I kicked some Master Chief butt in Halo?
…Did some more kayaking, swimming, jogging, hiking…
…And that was only in one week.
…I also went to camp and did climbing…
…zip-lining…
…archery…
…and I stabbed myself in the hand with a knife…
…a wooden knife:D …
…try that.
…Wait a sec, more coming…
…didn’t do the shotgin or rifle (just 20 gauge and .22 rimfires:mad: )…
…didn’t do sailing (and I wasted two hours getting re-certified for it.)…
…On the other hand I’m now soooooooo close to eagle scout…
…So in other words it was pretty boring.
I’ll tell you the rest in a month and a half when school gets in session.
where’d you go camping, yawgoog? i only ask because i was going to go there this summer, except i’m stuck at a research thing instead…
my summer has been fun, filled with late nights of Risk, The Game of Global Domination (you have to know my friends for that to make sense ;)), ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf (a one hour attempt at least), driving on the cross bronx expressway (never again), learning more about linux (gentoo, to be specific) on my computer, reading, beach, half trying to teach my dog how to fetch (stupid lhasa, drop the ball!), and um, that’s about it.
i’m supposed to be going to hershey park in late august, possibly going to six flags great adventure late august as well.
oh, one other thing. working on my eagle project. almost done, finally, maybe i’ll post pictures here when i’m done (i’m building a “geniza”, for burying old jewish prayer books and whatnot [old tradition, i guess]). and working on three more merit badges. hopefully i’ll be eagle by october or november…

nah, i’ve only been to bar-harbor
went kayaking off the coast, rock, climbing on otter cliffs, climbed the precipice trail Acadia national park, and toured the afore-mentioned park by mountain bike.
This summer i think i spent the best 2 months of my life in krefeld, germany studying the german language, grammar, culture, phonetics, literature, and conversation. I lived with a host family in Toenisvorst, and they were the coolest people. Aside from school on the weekdays, i went to Cologne, Munich, Dusseldorf, Aachen, Kempen, Bonn, Heidelberg, Trier, Cochem, Fuessen (think Neuschwanstein), Koblenz, and a lot of cute small towns. I think the only bad part of the whole ordeal was that i didn’t go to IRI, but since i was in Bavaria that weekend, i didn’t mind too much. yeaah… that and missing dance camp, but people that have more energy than me at a FIRST competition just scare me.
