What does "Returning Team x" mean on FIRST Dashboard

Hi,
This is my first year as a mentor so I was wondering what does the X under returning team mean. Does it turn into a checkmark when we pay the registration fee or do I need to do anything before that?

This indicates that you have not yet marked the team as returning. I’m 95% sure that you don’t need to pay to mark the team as returning, but I may be mistaken.

Thanks, do you know where on the dashboard I need to mark it as returning team?

Unfortunately I can’t remember - all of my FRC teams are already marked as returning or are rookies. On your dashboard, if there are any outstanding tasks, complete those, and you’ll likely find the button. If not, I’m sure another mentor will come along with a better memory - or you can call FIRST directly. Their phone support is super helpful, and almost never has a wait.

All tasks are completed so probably button is somewhere obvious but I can’t see it. I will give them a call.

I emailed FIRST Finance about this in May 2020, when I first noticed this feature. That interaction led me to the conclusion that I could safely ignore it.

If you feel so inclined to mark your team as returning (I have), when on the “homepage” of your dashboard, near the top left there should be a button labeled “returning teams”. Click this and a pop-up will appear, allowing you to select any returning teams that you are a lead mentor for.

Ah yes - that button has been broken for me for a little over a year, so I forgot that it existed. This is the answer!

Thank you everyone, I marked it as returning. One thing is when I tried using Firefox it didn’t let me do it so switching to Chrome and retrying solved it.
