Title says it all. I’ve been having many ‘M.L.I.F.’ moments now that kickoff is approaching. Where did the site go?
I was the original creator of the site, but it has since been taken down. Though there were a few reasons, the primary one was a lack of activity. There was plenty of interest, especially at launch. However, there was never enough activity to have a steady stream of posts and to keep the submissions box active. My benchmark for activity was ~8 posts per day, but there was never a sustained period with more than 3/day. Eventually I decided it wasn’t worth maintaining and took it down.
Now that you bring it up again, I think a similar idea in a different format might have more success: a submission-aided tumblr. It doesn’t rely on visitors to moderate and I could maintain it even with light submissions, but would still allow for submissions and provide roughly the same entertainment. If there’s interest (?), I’ll start one up and we’ll see where it goes.
In the meantime, if you’re itching for FIRST-related social media, you may want to check out FIRST Objective.
That’s unfortunate, but the Tumblr-style site is a great idea. Thanks for the FIRST Objective link, too.
That is a good idea. I wanted to share the M.L.I.F. website with a friend and was sad that I couldn’t find it.
