What gauge wires do we get for batteries, also we are using the rev PDH but I don’t know if that matters
I was looking and I’m pretty sure it’s 6 gauge wires we need, but I don’t really know.

You need 6awg minimum but its very common for teams to use 4awg wires as they are the largest that fit in the PDH by spec. If using SB50 connectors 4awg is possible but depending on the wire/crimps they can be hard to get all the strands in the SB50 crimp.
6AWG is the standard (and smallest allowed based on past seasons rules). Many teams opt to use larger gauge (4 or 2 AWG are not uncommon), but that’s a personal choice.
Whatever you do, I highly recommend getting the silicone sheath flexible wire
You typically buy the cables as a kit in 6 or 4 AWG.
Then you need either the 6 AWG or 4 AWG cables and connector for each battery.
I highly recommend not using the included nuts and bolts that come with the battery to attach the cables. Use these or these instead.
4 or 6 awg, depending on if you get SB120 or SB50 connectors
I’m certainly not going to recommend it, but there are teams running 2 awg into the PDH and SB50 by cutting some of the strands.
So… they’re running ~4 gauge but just don’t know it?
For main power wire, you probably do not want silicone, but rather EPDM. This is commonly sold as “welding wire”. EPDM is also very flexible but tougher and less prone to cuts/damage than silicone (which is quite soft).
Similar and related discussion happening in this thread, BTW.
yeah, this is my post, I just wanted some more specification on what EXACTLY to get
Yes good call. I couldnt think of the name for it and my team just calls it all “silicone wire”
It’s 4 gage at the cut, but for the rest of the length it is 2 gage. This is essentially just 2 gage wire from a resistor perspective because of the resistance formula being calculated at every cross-sectional area.
our team, and many others, have had good experiences with the EPDM welding wire that Powerwerx carries. https://powerwerx.com/welding-cable-epdm
We have often used Temco Industrial. Very reasonable pricing (6AWG at just over $1/ft for 50’) and free shipping. 6AWG black and red, or they sell a set of 25’ of each for the same price. Also 4AWG options if you choose.
