What happened to #1903 what was their name why did they leave the frc or did they ever exist?

I looked up their number on TheBlueAlliance, and the only hit I got was a YouTube account owned by 179 Children of the Swamp (@swampthing1903). Given that their rookie year would have been 2006, and that a) I’ve heard that’s considered the first really accurate year for TBA and b) that records for team 1902 are very strong, I’m inclined to think they just never existed.

1902 was one of the absolute last teams to register for 2006. It could well be that FIRST HQ reserved the block past that for future merges and splits.

There seems to have been a team registered with FIRST for rookie year 2006 with the team number 1903. If you search on the team search on Firstinspires you get a search result that says the were called the Gators, and were based out of Lake Marion High School in Santee, SC. But the usual team record is empty (i.e., it returns a “No teams, events, or districts could be found using the given season and/or data.” result if you click on the team number in the search result.) I suspect that it was a team that was registered but never actually formed or competed.

I show 2006 rookies up to Team 1980, with Team 1981 the first 2007 rookie. I’d be inclined to think 1903 was given for a team that never completed registration or never competed.
There are a few other team numbers missing between 1900 and 1980.
