WHAT HAPPENED TO TEAM 188 SITE??
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
it probably went down?
heres a good idea…maybe we shouldnt use bright yellow text…i think this would’ve been more suitable in the chit chat section
Someone set them up the bomb.
Team 188 is in the process of changing providers. There are just a few minor things to fix up. Hopefully we will be back on line today or tomorrow. We are sorry for the inconvenience. By the way I could not read a word that you wrote because it is hard to read yellow on white.
We as well had to change providers on sparky384.com because we were paying a little too much for what we needed and they were constantly going down.
Can’t wait to see what team188 is going to produce this year though. Looking forward to seeing what is coming.

Wow, a little weird to see this post at the top of the portal… I’ll give you the short version of a long, epic story.
We were in the process of moving to a new webhost, which as you may know is usually in itself an involved and problem-prone process. This new host is still preparing its service to accomodate the website, because those that are now performing the move are finding out some problems with the service and gaps in technologies needed to run the site’s features. I was going to do the whole move on January 21 and 22 (and presumably run into the same problems, only far earlier), but unfortunately fell ill early on the 21st and have been hospitalized since. As of this month, our old host has had to cease serving. So those performing the move are unfamiliar with the backend I wrote and are missing a few passwords, in addition to having to deal with the hosting issues. I’m talking to them often though still from here.
Um, hence, my being hospitalized is pretty much the reason for the delay. To address a question raised in this thread, we weren’t planning on changing the website for a new year. We don’t do that. Personally I find the practice of actively changing a site every year to try to get an award a little silly, and in any case, we don’t have the resources to do that. As it stands we’ve been struggling to ensure that all tangible updates to the site are done by students and none by myself, as it was last year (I was a student last year).
Incidentally, FIRST and I are parting company for a little while. I was going to ref at the GTA regional and possibly at the Waterloo Regional, but I’m not going to be in any condidion to fulfill those duties. So I’m kinda on hiatus for the time being. We’ll see…
