Since we only have one weekend left - What is IT???
since “IT” can be assembled in 10 minutes, out of items in 2 duffel bags - the size is limited.
My guess is that it is going to be a scooter with a new power source. Call my guess boring, but it seems to be the only thing that would make Jeff Bezos “giggle” because it was so fun.
i might edit this post later but IT is “something no one ever thought of, extremely useful, and so much fun.” What in the world would that be? A robot?

LOL While that would be cool…I’m going with a scooter one sits on and drives on a 6 wheel (2 or 4 in contact with ground) system. I’m betting hes incorporated all that fun gyro stuff from iBot into this one too. From the patent drawings im also going to guess it climbs stairs as well.
I think last year or this year, Dean him self said that people would design cities around this (at least i think it was him…) and scooters don’t fit the picture. Someone else said that “IT” is as big, if not bigger, than the computer! Now, a scooter can’t do that. What if it is a transporter like the ones on Star Trek?! That would be so cool!! Just think, something bigger than the computer, that doesn’t fit a scooter! (and can that be possible, bigger than a computer?) Plus, I am wondering, will “IT” live up to the hype?

What if IT is not the scooter, but what powers the scooter???

**I don’t mean to sound sound blunt, but, would people build cities around some engine? Just ask your self that? I don’t think they would… **
Hmmm, it seems the United States has built their major cities with roads to accommodate the internal combustion engine…Matt, this engine is not ‘some engine.’ Perhaps you already know the concept behind how it works, but if not, www.howstuffworks.com has a great illustrated explanation. This engine will not need to exchange anything with the outside environment. The heat source is the only thing that will exchange energy, the rest is completely self contained. I don’t know, and end to pollution from transportation, and independence from the Middle East (oil) sounds pretty good to me. Granted, new cities wont crop up solely because of IT, but i think that if it is as big as it sounds (and from the patent drawings - a general scooter-type design), it will at least be incorporated into the design of the roadways.
The dates these domains were registered were in February. The whole IT leak happened in January. I highly doubt DEKA would register domain names relating to what there are doing under such close media attention. Rather, they do this as a decoy to make the media “find IT” when really they’re looking at decoy domains, decoy patents, etc…
Yes, too bad Dean said, “No, it won’t beam Scotty anywhere.” Hehe, maybe his next invention will address that.
Regarding the cities comment, look at congested cities in Asia and other parts of the world. Vehicles crowd the streets and bicycles weave in and out of traffic. Imagine if all that was replaced by a scooter-like device that was more economical than a car, yet more comfortable than a bicycle?

I’m not at all trying to be rude, nor trying to appear to have vast legal knowledge, but is it legal to make “decoy patents?” It is my understanding that that would defeat the purpose of a patent. I would think they would need at least one real patent, which would presumably be one of the several submitted.
Shrug… I’m not sure if it’s legal, but if it’s a legitimate new idea you can patent it whether you intend to produce it or not… I think… Maybe they just chose one of their hundreds of patents they decided not to persue productionwise and use that as a decoy? I’m probably way off and will be eating my words monday when it’s a scooter, but I can hope it’s something else

Theres a thread going on over at www.theitquestion.com… it is a contest for a t-shirt/bumper sticker slogan, here it is. There are a few really funny ones scattered throughout.
“IT” is reusable toilet paper. Think about it, if “IT” is reusable Toilet paper the implications for the future will astound the world. As Toilet Paper will be reusable the septic and sewer systems could be built differently, its some thing everyone in the world uses, except for a few who use bark… Whole cities will be redesigned around this amazing invention. Natural recources will be saved and the world will be a better place for all.
Yep “IT” is definatly ( REUSABLE ) Toilet Paper. Wana Bet.

What if IT is a scooter, a bus, a car, an entire transport system set up in a city? I don’t mean just the engine but all the parts. What if IT is a design for traffic plans of a large city and the vehicles to work in the plan? Maybe the engines are stirling and somehow work together… I don’t know but it seems likely to me, at least at this point in time. I guess we’ll see on Monday Can’t wait!
