Some of those parts seem pretty heavy. If you build a typical electronics board what will it weigh?
We’ve estimated ~ 25 pounds for electronics and pneumatics, but judging from last year (8 victors, IFI panel) allow for ~ 8-10 pounds. Perhaps more, perhaps less We really haven’t used the default setup for awhile, so we’re learning again too.
Ours weighed about 7.5 pounds, with the brain, 4 victors, 4 spikes, all the wire, a 1/4 inch piece of poly, and the on switch. I think we weighed it with the camera on top too.
When the weight supervisor came to me, and asked for the estimate, I told him 15 lbs.
Now, there is no reason it should weigh more than 10 (pretty much ever), but I’d like to think that electronics is something that you cannot cut weight out from, and its not going to hurt anything if its underweight.
Good luck!
That is probably a much better number. I thought ours sounded high…
In the past we hit about 10 Lbs. with 8 or 9 victors, main breaker, radio, punched metal tray, robot controller and the old (you can’t use it this year all in one fuse panel) the maxi block and the new connector assemblies will up the weight over the previous fuse panel. Remember it’s very easy to really add mass with long runs of wire. I have shortened some wires buy a few inches each on the main motor runs and cut more than 2 lbs.
