What Now?

Now that our robot is gone team meetings are moving down to about three to four times a weeks with a couple off before starting. Sitting down tonight without robotics is kinda weird.

So, what are you doing with all your extra free time? Maybe your team doesn’t slow down meeting after the robot is shipped.

by the way, sleep is assumed.

Time to get Fantasy FIRST ready to lift off.

our students keep hanging around like the 6 weeks is still happening.
I told them to go home right after school and leave me alone for awhile. :stuck_out_tongue:

They dont know what to do with themselves.

Enjoy a relatively full night’s sleep–I’ve been going in to work at 8:00 (with a half-hour commute! ) for most of build season, combined with working until 9:00 (or later!) at night. Strolling in at 9:00 is heavenly.

How about judging a Caption Contest or so pre-sleep?

Me personally? a) I’m not working with an FRC team this year, b) I’m a college student, so have homework, and c) I’ve got an Aero Design competition coming up during FRC Week 2 competitions to get ready for.

There’s a loneliness that sets in with the shipping of the robot. It’s like sending off a dear friend or family member. And then there’s that adrenalin aspect, getting used to ‘not’ having that adrenalin pump/need.

Parents/spouses/loved ones:

Hello, how are you?
Hungry?
Tired?
How’s the homework situation?
Remember us?
Yes, that is a bed. Your bed. It is for sleeping.
Welcome home.

We want to mount the trailer to one of our old chassis and have human player practice.

As I left school today, I realized that that was only the second time since Jan 3rd that I had seen sunlight on a weekday. (Mon-Fri: work till 6, Sat: 8-4)

It was odd, but nice. Then I realized that I had to start taking the bus again, and some of that glow kinda faded.

I get to focus on my school work again. Lucky most of my teachers were understanding of how much time I had to put into robotics the last week and cut me some slack. Oh and no more going to school at 8am on a Saturday. HOORAY FOR SLEEPING IN!

I always get a case of post-ship depression that lasts for a couple days.

Thanks to all the amazing picks and videos here on Chief Delphi I have snapped out of it and am now excited again.

Hmmm the same thing I do everyday. Scan Chief Delphi. Play some Rock Band and RPGs. And wait for the competitions.
