I feel like hanging is easy enough… i feel like leveling the bar is won’t be seen until later in the season.

how many teams did you see hanging in power up? not that many. very similar climb.

yes but the teams who did, did it well, and most likely will be passing down that knowledge to their/other rookie teams, or other teams they may be working with. Teams may also try something new this year. I wouldnt count on there not being a lot teams who can climb, but also wouldnt say everyone is going to. It all depends

Tip: go look at 2018 week 1 and look at what percent of alliances had climbing points. You could do it pretty quick with the TBA api.

I completely agree, the average competition’s I looked at for power up during week 1 showed that most teams didn’t climb.

OK, follow-up poll. How often do you expect to see balanced hangs of 2 or three robots in week 1?

I suspect granite state will have far higher numbers than the rest of the FIRST world in week one. I think almost every robot there will have a climber

Wow just checked out that event and there are so many northern NE powerhouses there! A lot of climbing will happen at that event probably

So…how accurate were our predictions? I think I underestimated how many would make it, and that’s a good thing.

Per TBA insights, 28% of opportunities to hang were successful. Anecdotally at our week 1 district event about half of the robots successfully hung at least once.

The rank point was achieved roughly 1 out of 7 alliances according to TBA insight page in quals.
That’s easily over 20 per event so that poll was pretty far off.
