Me:2515.4 Kbps Cable modem at home through a router and about 50’ of LAN cable.
816 kbps … SBC Yahoo DSL.
[Edit] I’m on a wireless connection … the ‘home portal’ sits in the den, right under my room (about 14-15 feet away.) I’m also connected at 11.0 mbps [/edit]
Wasn’t there a thread something like this awhile ago?
to bad we’re not playin golf…
34.2 Kbps
263.7 Kbps - Over DSL> Router >Wireless Adapter at 11Mbps - Not bad huh =)
**5440 Kbps **- You
It’s kind of wowing me right now too, its only a Cox cable connection. Along with a router and a 130+ ft cable going from my main house, this connection is decent, and CNET might be deceiving me, but the results seem consistent.
4382.4 Kbps - You
not too bad, the connection goes up and down here- my roommate and I hit 9000+ kbps regularly on data transfers… its amazing sending movies to eachother within minutes
1192.3 Kbps
Not bad for DSL in the middle of nowhere a little slow this morning for some reason
44,835.2 kbps
connection speed at GM in flint
:ahh: Infinity Kbps - You :ahh:
This is what happens if you hit the back button, let it show you the new speed, and do it again.
Make sure you don’t hit the back button to do a second test!
btw, I had a 1000 or so kb connection at school with a T1.
360.2 Kbps - You
This is my high school connection. Which is pretty sad seeing as it is supposed to be a T1 connection.
2463.8 kbps
Cable connection (RoadRunner). 50ft of cable between me and my router, 3 other computers on the network (don’t know what they were doing with activity), Apache installed and available to the outside world, so that may have had some influence. But not bad.
1314 Kbps - You
Lower than I would have thought. :o
This is with 6’ cable going to my router and then 6’ of cable to the cable modem. I didn’t test this with my wireless network and no other computers were on when I did this. I should also mention the cable line to the modem comes off a 5 way splitter in the garage.
T1- http://reviews.cnet.com/i/is/you.gif 752.5 kbps But i’m on a school network with about 250 other kids

On Earthlink Dial-up
The cable company said it would cost $7000 to run the cable line to our house - all of a sudden my connection seemed fast enough. I’m thinking about getting satellite internet - anybody know any good ones?
