What team would you like to be on?

Do you think you guys could work through your SCHOOLS and do a FIRST Exchange Student Program?

In other words, for SIX weeks, be an exchange student on another team, so you can learn from another team, (how the build season goes, etc). Of course, you would have to be an exchange student in the school system, and find a host family while you are on the other team…

Do you think anyone (schools) would go for this idea?

That sounds like a GREAT idea to me…I’d volunteer to either be an exchange student or to host someone, that’d be a lot of fun and a great learning experience. It’d be even better if they stayed for the competition season as well, in my opinion. If they helped build the robot, they’d probably want to compete with it, don’t you think?

Anyone with some influence want to think about the logistics and/or try to organize something?

sounds GREAT!!

especially for the college students, when Winter Break falls right into the build season…
wohooo

That would rock. Anyone want to spend six weeks in a nice CA area? All you have to do is help out 973…

Personally I think it would be a great idea. Teams would get to know other teams alot better and iner-team friendships could be formed. We might accually have a 3DSMax person who knows what they’re doing/accually isn’t too lazy to bother making one to turn in…

Atascadero High has a big exchange student thing going, I belive we have 12 or 13 from other country’s this year alone. The german exchange student was a great help to our team.

If anyone sets this up, be sure to tell us as we might be able to accually pull it off over here.

Edit- back on topic, I would like to vist MOE, 100, 114 or 254. I think it would be cool.

I was wondering when a thread like this would come up.
At least it gets to the point.

111
365
1541

217
229
341

that’s all i can think of now, during finals.

puts nose back into book

I’d like to be on HOT.

HOT’s amazing.

Would love to be on:
229 - many awesome people on their team.
1511- they have expanded so fast, it would be amazing to just grow with them

personally i would like to check out 1902

they had an amazingly good robot and it was their rookie year

(correct me if im wrong)

I’ll stay where i am. A team is what it’s members make it, and we built ours from the ground up.

Of course it would be pretty cool to be on a well funded and well equipped team.

I’m going to agree with that. I’d want to be on 1511. They are basicly the greatest new team. Just two years and look where they are.

I’m proud to be on 547, but if I had to be on another team for a season, I’d probably pick HOT team. I’ve always been impressed with their robots, but after watching that video at Nationals I’m impressed with them as a team as well.

Who’s hot?

Team 20, because they had the best robot.

Mabey rage. They are nice.

Yea, Paul is an amazing mentor…I wish every team could have a Paul.

Oh and to answer the ?
I would want to be on 469 because I think their team is so diverse and Las Guerrillas rock of course!

Thirded. When I first heard of Rolling Thunder and everything they were doing last year and this year, I kind of thought they were a low numbered team that had been around since the 90s, but then I heard they were 1511 and rookies last year. I was amazed by them at Boston this year.

Otherwise, 229, 365, 25, 111 and many others have always been teams I’ve looked up to, but also all of the local CT teams like 173, 176, 195, 237, and 1124 would make for interesting seasons to be with.

i’m agreeing with my teammate kelli 71 would be the next team i would join all the way they look like they have a ton of fun.

My list of teams!

1712
84
433
222
1689
1089
365
56
203

I think that it would be a totally different experience joining a rookie team and trying to get that started. There are a lot of established teams out there that do a great job, but I don’t think it would be as much fun as trying to get the support to start a whole new team.

My list is almost endless but my shortened list is :

20
33
45
65
71
111
121
191
217

But I think if I could do a FIRST student Exchange, I’d go for team 148 next year.

I think I’m where I need to be now, and I wouldn’t want to change for the world, but this seems like too fun of question to pass up.

I’d like to be part of a really big team and see how everyone stays involved and motivated. Like 67, 494, etc.

It might be nice to be on one of those high spirited teams like 217, 461, or MOE.

Working with Al and others on 111 or Andy and crew on 45 would be great.

How about 27, 47, or 71: strong teams where the kids seem to have the greatest learning experiences?

Geographically, 1164 or 857 would be great. I like the pictures of Rick’s team working outside in February. Since it’s been 25 years since I’ve spent a winter in Houghton, it seems more nostalgic than frightening  .

It would be neat to be on a strong team with incredibly beautiful robots like 1501 and 65.

For too many reasons to list: 33, 108, 191, 503

I think if I had to pick only one, I think I’d like to help the future team at Fruitport get started.

Actually if it were humanly possible I’d like to get to know all the teams, because I think I could help and learn from each of them.
