So I think we have disassembled our pyramid for the last time and now I have a bunch of black iron pipe to figure out what to do with.
What are others doing with their pipe?
Recycle?
Craig’s list?
Dumpster?
Yard art?
We have a full pyramid built to team drawing specs

I wonder what the craigslist ad would look like…
One, steel pyramid structure. Perfect for young child’s home gymnasium.
Steel pyramid, not like the ones in egypt. only better.
Ours was chopped up and made into a cart that holds aluminum extrusion. However we’re saving 1 corner so that we can demonstrate our 30 point climb.
Any off-season events that can use them?

We are building a 3 level climb off season and currently don’t have a pyramid. If we can find space for it we’d love to have/buy yours off you given the right price.
sell it to one of those “pyramid power” people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_power

Our pyramid is going to one of our mentors backyard… his kids are crazy about it =P
You could re purpose it as a overbuilt computer station.
I like the idea of scrapping it. The money you could get could go to your team’s funds!
We have scrap metal drives to raise funds for our team. We take over the local scrapyard tearing stuff apart!
It’s a load of fun, and it’s for a good cause!

Our bridge from last year ended in one team member’s basement…the same will probably happen with our pyramid .

Don’t know what the scrap steel prices are for you, but around here 1 cent per pound is typical. That doesn’t yield much more than a buck for the pyramid.
Anyone near us in Virginia that wants to get rid of one, we would be interested in it.
There has been discussion about turning ours into 4 trellises for climbing roses and such at schools, home, etc.
Maybe.

We have a request out for ANY surplus field elements for a shared public practice field at the Virginia Air and Space Center. (and carpet)
Use the pipes as ‘motivational’ tools for students?
… Or just scrap the pipes if nobody wants em.

What I have learned from my years in FRC:
You can make money on anything
SELL IT SELL IT
Unless you have a use for it or it is used in a future game.
Don’t be so quick to get rid of the materials, you might find them useful!
