Hi,
I recently set up a Jetson Orin Nano coprocessor for Apriltag detection and localization. Unfortunately, I’m at a loss for what camera to use. We’ve used ribbon cable OV9281s in the past but those aren’t an option now as the Jetson only has two ribbon connectors. So, we must turn to USB.
Now, I didn’t see a difference between the cameras, we actually used them both facing tags, and the robot located well with them. I don’t know what to look for to say what the “best” camera is, they were both good, and the color ones could also be for game piece detection.
We have been using the Arducam OV2311 with Opi5s the last two seasons
Compared to the OV9281:
twice the resolution (2MP)
twice the price ($100)
twice the performance? Probably not, but they do seem to resolve tags better at distance.
ps both types are on that same AMZ page. I don’t like when they do that.
I was looking at this one earlier, I’m admittedly a little discouraged at the prospect of making my team pay $100 for a camera, but I guess it’s still cheaper than a limelight.
Would you say the performance is significantly greater than the OV9281? Or is it just a slight increase in tag resolution distance?
