What was your favorite song they played?

What was your favorite song they played at your regional?

mine was Thunderstruck by ACDC

The FIRST song (version #1 - sounded like the outback steakhouse commercial!)

During the final rounds of eliminations, I swear it should be a FIRST requirement to play the FOX Football Theme song.
In any case, this year there’s been a lot more variety in the song selection of the regionals we’ve attended and its been quite a bit more enjoyable for everyone because of that!

ohh ohh that one that tells you where to step . . .

I’m glad I only heard each song no more than twice. I rememeber last year at RIT they played the Cha-Cha slide 50 times. it got so boring and stupid.

I’ve always been partial to Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project (thanks Mr. Morrella for helping me finaly find out what that song was!)

Oh, easily Won’t Get Fooled Again, by my favorite band, The Who!
“YEEAAHHHHHH!!”
It was played in part when they actually unveiled the Aim High field at Kickoff which was awesome, but they played it in full at the Hartford Regional.

I’m gonna take that to mean The Cha Cha Slide by Mr. C. lol
I’m gonna agree with that one too.

I always am partial to the songs from the 80’s like The Final Countdown by Europe.

Well, I haven’t been to a regional yet this season (my team is going to Philly next weekend), but I remember the DJ being especially good at Chesapeake last year. On another page, I noticed some of you are talking about “mandatory” competition songs. Check out Dan Swando’s list in his white paper on competition DJing (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/1808) to see what he considers mandatory songs.

Wow, Thanks coastertux for alerting me to that play list. I have been looking I guess in the wrong places for a list like that for about a year.

Dave

I love the song they always play at the beginning of every regional, right before the first match is about to start… does anyone know what it’s called?

Definitly Final Countdown, YMCA, and The Macarena

At our team social, we had Dean Simmons and the Kamen Brothers play…pretty much all of their songs rocked…lol. Especially, “You Gotta Keep It Lubricated” we cracked up so much during that one.

Yea, it’s that Let’s Get Ready to rumble and all other songs Remix. Not sure if it actually has a name.

They played Castles in the Sky at Buckeye…my whole team was singing along swaying our arms.

Actually, the one you’re probably referring to is Sirius, by The Alan Parsons Project. Jason Morrella answered this question earlier in the thread (I asked it). It’s only “mandatory” at west coast regionals because of Mr. Morrella, or at least that’s what I ascertained

even though they played it like 5 times every day at pittsburgh, we like to party…the six flags song. it’s hard to make me hate a song. the YMCA, Macarena, the Cha Cha Slide, and Cotton Eye Joe i love dancing/trying to (cotton eye joe) dance to them. the song that was played i think at both BMR and pittsburgh during elimination is TNT by AC/DC (listening to it right now actually) completely…i can’t even put it into words…pumped(?) up the match. thunderstruck and final countdown are some of my favorite songs. i just love music…come and see me in the stands…i sing just about every song lol. i’ve actually gotten yelled at for singing every song

Like others said, its Sirius by Alan Parson’s Project.

Now, if anyone could tell me the song that they played at the end of the closing ceremonies when everyone was leaving the stands (specifically at Sac, but I’m sure I’ve heard it before at other regionals), It’d be much appreciated. I can post a small clip that was caught when I was filming our team leaving if needed.

margaritaville was a favorite song of the drive team lol

I like pretty much anything they play that is classic rock, other than Mr Roboto, it’s ok maybe once in a while, but not 5 times a day, I’d love to have my iPod play through the competitions (yea, not happening, i know) about 50 hours with NO repeats :stuck_out_tongue: during the hip hop / pop / modern rock songs, you will usually see the trademark white earbud(s) in my ear(s).

At LA, around the Saturday lunch break, I’m pretty sure I heard one of my favorites: “Be My Escape” by Reliant K. (I was in the pit at the time, but I heard a snatch of the chorus and recognized it.)
