What will you contribute to Make It Loud?

At the Championship event, Dean Kamen put forth a challenge. Each team is to make a 2:00 video describing your team’s impact - whatever that may be.
What are your initial thoughts? What story do you want to tell in two minutes or less?

This guy gave a speech at our school talking about how our robotics program is a prime example of what underprivileged kids can accomplish when they have the resources & support they need combined with teachers that care. The acting secretary of labor echoed that in a radio interview recently, as well

Our video will explain the impact we’ve had on the kids in the team, as well as the impact our student team members have made by volunteering to judge elementary robotics competitions, at the local public library, and our other community outreach efforts.

We are still brainstorming what to put together for this… but in the meantime thought we’d share this.

Last year, we realised everyone on our team has a story to tell, so we interviewed several members and mentors and put them on YouTube as “My Inspirational Story.” We hope you enjoy them.

The only thing I could think of doing is talk about my travels to all the events I go to but I think FIRST would rather hear about the kids instead of about me.

With all your travels and all of the teams you meet, you would be a great person to give first-hand testimony to the positive impact that FIRST is having on students, mentors and volunteers lives.

I posted this in the FIRST in the News thread, and since it’s such a great article written by a Team 71 student, I’ll post the link here too! Definitely worth a read!
