We got a small motor in the bag that has all the fuses and controller accessories in it. Whats it for?
Is it for testing out your programs with the Victors or spikes?

I think you’re talking about the Fisher Price motors. Last year, they just came with the motor and the gearbox. This year, it seems they left the wires and switches attached from the actual Fisher Price toy from whence it came.
[Addition: Oops. Never mind. You must be talking about the Johnson Electric motor. Hehe, funny little thing. I have no idea what to use it for.]
The JE motor is for making a whirr noise, at least that seems to be its only good use. It would be decent for program testing off-base, along with the FPs.
I agree with Dan. The only use for our small johnson that we have thought of is to add extra weight. And to make a cool little purring noise
I like it, whether it’s good for anything or not.
Naturally, on kick off day, (a.k.a. Christmas/2) I went rummaging through the kit of parts, randomly grabbing the motors I didn’t recognize. The first things that caught my attenetion were the Chiaphuas, or Chalupas. Next I sifted through the Electronics Bag in the red container. I reached in, and pulled out the smallest motor i’ve ever seen in the kit. I immediately exclaimed, “THIS IS THE CUTEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN!!!”
Needless to say I have a new best friend, regardless of it’s purpose or use. It’s just a cute lil baby drill motoer

If you think that motor is small, take apart one of your servos and check out its motor. Then consider that there are servos that are about 1/6 the size of the ones in the kit. Those servos have REALLY LITTLE motors. It amazes me that they can actually build them.

I’m too lazy to take apart a servo, so i’ll stick with the easily accessible baby motor
The Johnson Motor is pretty powerful for its small size.
In fact, it is about 40W of peak power – that is more than the seat motors or the window motors.
Now, its power comes from its speed not its torque, but even so, it is a pretty good motor for the right application. If you give it a 100:1 gear ratio or so you’d be surprised how torquey you’d find the output.

What you do with the motor is first build a 3 x 6 pusher prop to attach to the end of the motor. Then mount the motor near the wires and electrical bundle.
The motor is then turned on during operation so when the wires burn up or something smokes, the motor acts as a 40W blower to get that smoke out onto the field.
You just have to make sure to create enough smoke.
