Where are they now - FIRST edition

Hi all, first time on here in probably 7-8 years, was inspired by #tbt :stuck_out_tongue:

Would love to hear what my fellow FIRST’ers are up, kind of like a 10 year reunion type thing.

So if you were doing FIRST back in 2003-2007, what are you up to now? Job, family, etc?

In 2003, I was in Kindergarten in Angola, Indiana, fascinated with robots, and initially learning about FIRST from library books.

I do ridiculous amounts of volunteering instead of just being a spectator. Up until this year I was also active doing Fantasy FIRST. Outside of FIRST I have no life.

Was on FRC 1592 Bionic Tigers from 2005-2008 from Cocoa, Florida. Then went to Florida State for Mechanical Engineering. Now work at Caterpillar in Aurora, IL outside of Chicago and mentor team 2338 Gear it Forward. No family yet, oh wait…robotics is my family

First off Jill, wow, what a blast from the past. I was a student on FRC team 1251 from 2004-2006. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University c/o 2011. I currently work for a local government as a city planner here in South Florida, have a part time sales job and am pursing a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning at FAU. Since 2007 I have been a mentor with team 1251.

FRC 330 from '03-'07, went off to college in South Dakota until '12. I currently build rockets for a living.

In between, mentored a couple of teams but am now with 1197 Torbots as a mentor.

I had a life before FIRST - I just can’t remember what it was.

Was on Team 910 from 07-10, now I mentor the team. I also spend ridiculous amounts of time volunteering (12 events this year alone). I don’t think I’m quite on Koko Ed’s level yet, but I’m trying to get there.

I just graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in History and English from Wayne State University in May, and now I’m working on my Master’s in Education at Oakland University.
