I’m just trying to make sure that this is the right place to get the 3" Cim motors.

I think there is a problem with the picture so just trying to double check with others.
Thanks
The 3" is also known as the Fisher Price Cim, or Mini Bike Cim
Biff
If you didn’t use CIM motors from previous years, are you allowed to use them this year (just 2 extra)? Or do we need to buy 2 more CIM’s?
From all that I have been reading, I don’t think so,
From the manual, R<45> states:
One or two additional 2-1/2” CIM motors (part #FR801-001) in addition to those provided in
the Kit Of Parts. This means that up to four, and no more, 2-1/2” CIM motors can be used
on the ROBOT.
There might be some more stuff on the threads or with an update.
If you want more CIM motors, you can get them from banebots.
Yes you can use them just verify they are the same part number in case the inspectors hassle you about it. Some of us still have really old CIMs floating around with splined output shafts.
As a follow-up to what Pete said, some of the previous years’ small CIM motors also have a fully keyed shaft. For those of you using older CIM motors in the new Banebot 2x CIM Adapter, you’ll find that the fully keyed shaft doesn’t work with this new gearbox. (I should post this observation in a new thread as well…)
There are subtle differences in many of the FIRST motors over the years. Just be sure that you are aware of the differences, and are able to design around them.
