G6 TEAMS may preload White DISCS in or on the ROBOT before the MATCH.
A. If the ROBOT is in contact with any carpet outside its AUTO ZONE, the ROBOT may preload up to three (3) DISCS.
B. Otherwise, the ROBOT may preload up to two (2) DISCS.
The auto zone is on the side of the line that contains the pyramid, correct? (blue zone, blue pyramid)
If so, I think it basically depends on how you design in regards to your height, as you can go higher when in your auto zone. IMO this makes it much more appealing to design a shorter robot.(that is, if certain shooter prototyping can produce far enough distances…)

When placed on the FIELD, each ROBOT must be:
D. contacting its PYRAMID.

ROBOT height (as defined in relation to the ROBOT) must be restricted as follows during the MATCH:
A. If in contact with the carpet in its AUTO ZONE and/or its PYRAMID, 84 in.*
Theoretically, you could start on the corner of your Pyramid, touching it, your Auto Zone carpet, and non-Auto Zone carpet …allowing you to be 84" tall and have 3 pre-loads. So the 2 vs. 3 preload issue is not a direct decision based on robot height. (It might be based on whether you can successfully score from the required position, but 84" and 3 preloads are not mutually exclusive.)
Ok this is kinda off topic but people are on this post so can someone tell me how to make a New thread I deal really dumb because I can’t figure it out. Thanks
Click the purple logo at the top left of each CD page. This takes you to the “Forums” page, which lists all the forums and most of the subforums that CD has to offer. Select the one that your topic will fit best under (hint: probably not “General” at this point), check to make sure someone else hasn’t asked the same question (check in “General” as well, just to make sure), and click the “New Thread” button near the top of the thread listing.
The way I interpret this is if you want to start with three discs you need to be a. touching the pyramid and b. partially behind the pyramid, which if you need to line up your shot (i.e. not move before shooting) it makes it difficult to shoot at the high goal since you would have to shoot through the pyramid or potentially “around” it. If you can’t reach the high goal with these constraints then I would think you are better off with two disc shooting the high goal from a closer range then three discs at the middle goal from further away. Both would potentially get you 12 points.
Of course depending on your robot your mileage may vary
