where's this picture from?

Hey all, i know this year’s game is about to be revealed, but i was just browsing FIRST’s webpage and noticed the picture of the red and blue robot at the top of this page
http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/index.html
You can see yellow and black balls, so the picture had to be from the '00 competition or more recent, but i don’t recognize the stuff to the right of the picture. Is all that stuff to the right simply part of the robot featured to the left? or (now here is where i’m pulling ideas out of left field) could that stuff to the right be part of this year’s playing field, and the robot just be some prototype the FIRST people created to play with and test the game,
does anyone recognize that robot being in any past competition?
if so, then my guess is wrong, but if no one has seen that bot before, who knows.

That Robot is team 233 from 00’ they had a real neat robot. The thing to the left holding the balls was thier basket thing and thats thier shop i believe. So its not somthing for this years game sorry Scott.

ah well, good thing i’m an engineering student and not trying to be a detective:) thanks, guess i’ll sit tight and wait for them to just tell us what the game is in 14 hours. Drive safe everyone going to kickoffs in the southeast where we suddenly have some snow and ice to deal with.

you guys are lucky to have snow. i saw on tv the other day that in indianapolis we only got a total of 3.8 inches of snow for the entire year 2001. A RECORD LOW!!!:frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

we need some snow. enjoy it while you can:)

Wow i wish we had any snow, down here we get none so as my friend says quityerwhinin…j/k i really do wish we had snow though

I know this snow thing is off topic, but here in southeast VA, we have 10" on the ground. That’s the most I’ve seen since I left Michigan! The big difference though is that people in Michigan know how to drive in it. On the rare occasions that it does snow, pile-ups are not hard to find.

~Tom Fairchild~, who loves driving in the snow in his rear wheel drive car.

doin some clean-up & keeping it on topic …

start a snow thread in chit-chat if ya want
