Awards assistant & misc. other jobs I’m sure.
Basically, going by what I did last year, was on Thursday we unpacked all the FRC awards & cleaned them all up & tagged them all (labels on the bases).
Then we got them ready & organized them by field (5 total with one group being for Saturday’s awards on Einstein).
Saturday was a big day, we had to bring all the big awards that were going to be given out that afternoon & bring them to the podium near Einstein.
After that I played crowd control so if you were a team representative for awards last year & got the special seats right in front of Einstein onn the main level, you probably ran into me as I was directing people to their places.
It was interesting last year with that aspect of the job since EVERY judge had to come up the back way from the floor because the Secret Service had blocked off the main walkways out to the field (under the seats in front of Einstein) because of George Bush senior’s visit.
I signed up to be an awards assistant again this year, & then may float to some fields & help out there depending on what my awards job requires & how much free time I have.
they have me assigned as needed, we’ll see what happens…
One of these years I’m going to make it there. Mark my words. Now, I just need to find time, money, and preferably company.(long road trips are terrible if alone)

I’ll be looking for any hardware failures. Lets hope that all the bugs have been squashed, so that I can kick back and watch the show.

I’ll be there as another of the 4 Lead Inspectors.
Arrived in Atlanta this morning. Landing in a 50+ mph crosswind was “sporting” (that’s the pilots description after we were on the ground). Weather here today was not real pleasant, but it’s all supposed to blow out of here by tomorrow afternoon and be beautiful the rest of the week.
