Who are you watching week 1?

To carry on in my teammates footsteps, who will you be watching this weekend?

I’ll be at FiM Calvin University and keeping an eye on FiT Waco and Hueneme Port

I’ll be watching the HANGAR party at INKOK.

I’m pretty much required to be watching Detroit Cass Tech.

Wait a minute…people don’t just have all streams going at the same time to watch nearly all the events? :open_mouth:

To be fair, I’ll be mostly watching Hueneme, Waco and Granite state.

I’d love to know if any event has a higher % of traversal climbers than INKOK. I think we’re shaping up to see 9-10 traversal bots over the course of the weekend. Some probably won’t be running 100% initially but by elims, things could get very spicy.

I guarantee you 5172 is not under-rated, maybe under-watched, but not under-rated

Watching Lake Superior and Northern Lights, for 876 and 5172 respectively.

My challenge to myself is to pay close attention to a region/team other than Midwest or FIM (teams). I am going with 179-Children of the swamp

I’m planning to watch 33’s defensive specialist robot. /s

Other than that, I’ll have Lake Superior on, but plan to spend the majority of the time watching whoever won in the days following the events.

I’ll be at FIM Calvin tomorrow also, as a volunteer. My team plays next weekend at FIM St. Joseph.

Went by the venue just now (lunch break) to see if setup help was needed – everything looks good. Comets (3357) were building practice elements near the back of the pit area. Arena looked mechanically complete, with FTA crew working on scoring table setup. Everyone I saw was masked up in compliance with FIM protocol, and notices were posted on entrance doors saying that masks are strongly recommended. Very nice venue with viewing area well above the playing floor. Pits are arranged on the same floor as the arena, similar to a traditional Regional layout but without the large curtain. Looks like queueing will be cozy.

Can you elaborate on this?

What time is it? 930. I want to see how their climber looks.

Port Hueneme teams

Yeah. I’ve been pretty shocked by how many there are. The “Lego climb” seems very popular in Indiana.

If you asked me at kickoff, no way I would have guessed so many teams could pull that off week 1.

Wonder if there’ll be any double traverse? I was expecting none until state champs but who knows?

Oh there was a double traversal in Indiana two weeks ago. I guarantee you’ll see them on the regular in playoffs Week 1.
