We still haven’t finished our manipulator. At least we have a working base?

we just found a drive train prob today trying to fix it bright and early in the morning!:eek:

Well i think we barely made it through the cut. We were able to finish making the arm yesterday and spent the rest of the day trying to program but of course “The Accursed Panther” (we named it that because of all the problems it gave us) was not gonna let us finish that easily.:rolleyes:hopefully it will be operational monday.

You have a working base and you call that really, really behind? We just installed our wheels yesterday, and nothing else is attached to the frame. We haven’t even started our manipulator. Any debugging and fixing for our team takes place during the last half of the last weekend… and at the regionals. :rolleyes:

We thought we were finished a week ago… Then we found problems…

I think we’ll make it, but it might be close. We’re about where we were last year and we pulled through then.

Well, this year we are doing okay… (we can drive and launch, but still have all the auto left to go) but last year we figured out how to measure the position of our elevator (a rather important function) about 30 minutes before the robot went into the shipping crate. We had zero practice time and no time to test auto functions on the robot. It showed when we got to Portland, although by the end of the season we were starting to get things figured out.

we’ve got a working base and what appears to be part of a catapult of some sort. Today was spent doing as much work as possible to get everything ready for the last week. We hope to be testing by Wednesday…but I don’t have much hope for that.

We are at least two and a half weeks behind where we should be. For us, that means that we are right on schedule.

This year, we were behind more than usual since we were waiting on parts that were ordered and manufacturing. We spent that downtime continuing to prototype and refine our design drawings/calculations (lots of force=lots of design) Got our parts in…and everything got mounted in 1.5 days. We’re up and running now, back on track.:slight_smile:

yep…way behind…ran out of parts and our school gives us a hard time about ordering more

Having some strains on the pneumatics. Ughh!!
This is the stressful week.

For the first time in Robotos Locos history we are done and practicing. Well done is a relative term because we are constantly making improvements. But for us it is a luxurious feeling to be doing this sort of stuff now rather than at the regional.

Weve got our robot finished coneceptually and with a prototype… we just have to machine the final parts. its coming together… we even have a working automode capable of driving around and knocking things off the overpass.

We’re behind. The drivetrain is a wiring job and a couple of chains from completion; the manipulator is still in theory mode. Fortunately, we rejiggered our concept about midway through to give us some flexibility if we can’t quite execute the whole way.

At least our wiring job will be nice this year.

We seem to be where everyone else is, behind… we are starting on pneumatics now, got the wheels and chains alaigned (took1.5weeks) got them running, and have chassis done, but we are having problems with the compressor and pressure switch (mainly they wont start) and we cant figure it out, were getting the 5+ output low light on rc hardware, so yah where on track…

We’re behind, naturally. We are, however, ahead of last year, the year before, the year before that, etc. The electrical is mostly done (we ran out of 10AWG wire, so two victors lack power, and I think our battery mount may need some modifications), the pneumatics is done, the drivetrain is done, and most of the parts for the arm are done. On paper, it doesn’t sound like we’re that far behind, but by its very nature, our arm will need a lot of fine tuning to be effective and to avoid hurting someone very badly (it’s a very powerful arm). I wouldn’t be surprised if we were still fine-tuning our PID constants at the regional.

We’re pretty far behind. We didn’t have a frame until 4 or 5 days ago, but we’re catching up. I think.

We’re also about a week behind schedule. However, I’m sure many teams will be tweaking things until the moment the shipping crate is screwed shut.

Well I think that were in trouble… One because we just got our electrical board mounted, then we came across a problem with our PWM wireing…so were still working all of these problems out And have not even started on the arm… So I think we are in really ba shape
