Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

At the Finger Lakes Regionals there was a human player from XQ robotics who in the FINAL MATCH in the first 10 seconds of Operator Controlled mode threw one on the top row…everyone was on their feet screaming…opposing team and all. It was INSANE…a ton of cameras got it and there must be a clip somewhere…

There were alot of throwing tubes on in the practice rounds and such, but most teams didn’t in the finals due to danger of double ringer-ing…(?) a tube.

If someone has that clip…please post!

Our human player has thrown a few on. In one match, he threw one on a ringer that was already scored thus accidently canceling that row.

This weekend in Milwaukee I saw a few HP score. I also saw a row of 5 get cut in half. The robots had 5 blue ringers on the middle rack. Then the HP threw a great shot. It landed on the middle spider that already had a blue ringer. So the score fell from 2^5 = 32 to 2^2 + 2^2 = 8 OUCH!

Be careful out there… Throw early and throw well.

One of our human players got four on at the FLR regional… his first match out he got one on then he got another… unfortunatly he scored same place so we didnt get points for either lol, and the second time he got it on making the score 4 to 2 in our favor =) third time we didnt win though.

We managed to throw a ringer onto the rack during a qualifying match when our robot was broken. It was the only ringer scored for our alliance that match. We lost though :frowning:

612’s human player practiced for 6 weeks on his throw

he can even do a 360 and throw it
he scored one like that on our rack at the school

maybe he can do it at Chesapeake!

Our HP (Brannden) got consistently 1 in every match, we thought it would be cool if one of our Marketing guys actually did something in the match (I’m lead Marketing and the Mascot). Its amazing that some people get more then 1 in every match!

Our HP scored 4 times on the rack. He was able to get one during practice, 1 the first day and 2 the second day. When he threw the ringer on the rack the first day, that gave us a 4 to 2 lead (That ended up being the final score) with 20 seconds left. He was so ecstatic that he almost jumped out of the designated area. That wouldn’t have been good.

Also during the finals, our 2 alliance partners (1450 and 1713) threw 3 ringers on in 2 games.

the closest thing I’ve ever seen was a human player throw a tetra onto the top of the rack and have it bounce/fall through the inner spiders all the way to the bottom.

In the 1st of our 2 finals matches at St Louis, our human player scored a ringer early in the match.

Our alliance partner 86’s human player, Mark, managed to get 2 on [during different matches] during the finals rounds at the Florida Regional this weekend. It was awesome seeing it happen in real time, and later on video.

:]

Does anyone want to organize a drive team skillz challenge  .

i want a ring toss.

lets say at championship, on Saturday during lunch or something, on one of the practice fields. that would be so much fun.

qualifications on all the fields, or we could just do it by team in real game play.

RING TOSS 2007 I VOTE YES

Human Player Skillz Challenge 07: Be there or get tossed

I don’t know if we’ll need qualification considering i don’t think too many people would do it. Maybe we could have it in an around the world type format, winner gets a golden inner tube.

Down in the Bayou, Kevin Durkin, a member of Team 357 sucessfully threw a ringer!!! Way to go Kevin!

Dylan our human player threw a few on during qualifying but hit 2 in the same game during elims.

It was our human player who scored the ringer at St. Louis, in our first quarterfinal match. I was very surprised when the announcer came up to “interview” our human player.

a tetra?!?!
a ringer would be more like it me thinks
watching the webcasts, I’ve seen many a tube fall through the rack to their final resting place at the bottom :frowning:

At GLR there was someone who could throw tubes on almost consistently. I dont remember who it was tho >_>

At FLR, I saw a human player throw a tube that knocked a tube out of the gripper of an opposing robot. How is that for a “spoiler”. Anyone else see that happen during a match?
