The Xerox/Wilson Magnet X-Cats are a FIRST Legacy team and the only two time winner of the Chairman’s award which makes them the only team who officially qualifies for the world championship twice beforehand. As we are fond of saying we do not just build robots we build people.
We are Team 399, Eagle Robotics from Lancaster, California. Based out of Lancaster High School(drawing students from Eastside and Quartz Hill high schools this year, and in previous years adopting the members of now defunct FRC1110 of Highland HS).
Over the years, we’ve spawned three FRC teams(585, 1110, 2339), one FTC team(FVC 399, now FTC72), and countless FLL teams. As part of our outreach, we mentor, assist, and connect with these teams and more.
We are the first FIRST team in the Antelope Valley, going into our 13th year of competition. Typically, we are attendants of either the San Diego or Los Angeles regionals, and some regional out of state. This will be our second year of attending three regionals: San Diego, Utah, and Colorado.
For all of our years of being a team, we’ve qualified for the Championship event.
Our major achievements include, but aren’t limited to:
-Regional Chairman’s award @ LA 2007
-Regional Chairman’s award @ LA 2008
-Regional Champions @ Colorado 2009](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYi1sCZYRMw)
-Division Finalists @ Curie 2009
-IRI Champions 2010
-Regional Champions @ Utah 2011](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4M9KKz7igw)
Our team is willing to assist any team in need at any competitions we attend. Our pit crew would love to help teams in any way possible. Just look for us in our orange jerseys
Our rookie year was 2009. We’re the only FRC team in Cache Valley and span multiple schools with our base of operations at InTech Collegiate High. A few letters from us after our rookie year in Las Vegas got support from the state legislature for the Utah Regional, and it was held the next year. We’ve gotten a little better every year, from not making eliminations, to quarterfinals, to finals, and hope to make it to Championships this year. Good luck everyone.
Hello there, this is Sumathi from team 2410 CAPS Metal Mustang Robotics, commonly recognized on web casts as “that one team with silver cowboy hats”. For those of you familiar with us you may be wondering why our name is slightly changed this year. Last season our team became a district team which meets at the Center of Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS). In the past we have won the rookie all star award, and awards at the Oklahoma and Greater Kansas City Regionals.
This year we attended the Greater Kansas City regional and will be attending the Oklahoma Regional. As of now I believe we have around 45 students and about 10 mentors that works with us.
We’re team 1071, MAX, located out of Wolcott, Connecticut, and 2012 is the milestone of our 10th season. We serve the students of Wolcott High School, as well as a few Wolcott Students who attend other area schools.
Our team on average has about 30 students a year, and 7-10 fantastic mentors. We are a frequenter of the Connecticut Regional in Hartford, as well as throughout the Northeast Invitational circuit.
One thing to mention about our teams that’s special is that we host the Where is Wolcott? Invitational. This yearly off-season event held in June takes a laid-back approach to FRC, with the day mainly about just getting a great chance to use your robots in actual matches, and to party with your FIRST friends.
We’re Team 2601 - the Steel Hawks - from Flushing, NY. Our team started in 2008 with 7 students and 2 mentors from Townsend Harris High School. This year, we have grown to about 40 students and 10 mentors. We’re still a young team and have a lot of catching up to do but it’s been fun so far!
I don’t have an updated group picture but this is some of us right before we bagged our robot.
We are team 3397, the Robolions, from University City, Mo. In our short 3 years in FIRST, we have won a highest rookie seed and one reigonal victory (with 1985 and 3284). Last year at our reigonal we became known as “That team with the PVC”, and we are carrying on our legacy this year.
Our blog:
I have no team pictures, but there should be some of individuals on the blog.
Hello, Rookie Team 4276 here. Just wrapped up in the San Diego Regionals. Did great – 12th seed, and put up a good fight in the quarterfinals but lost to the eventual champion team.
Team photo:
That was just after losing the quarterfinal, so everyone was a bit tired and disappointed. Obviously we were thrilled to do so well in the regional, however.
I’m the marketing director for Team 3336, the Zimanators.
We are based in Swansboro, NC and will be attending the Raliegh Regional March 14 - 16.
This is currently our fourth (and most challenging) year.

Aloha! I’m the coach for team 2348, the Cool Geeks from Moanalua High School in Honolulu, Hawaii! Pleased to meet all of you! Our team had our start in 2008, at the first FRC regional in Hawaii. We’ve competed every year since, and have one regional champion title under our belt from 2009. Just remember, “We’re the coolest geeks you’ll ever meet!”
Also, there are 10 kinds of people in the world. Us Cool Geeks and those who have no idea what we’re talking about right now.
FRC team 1023 Bedford Express out of Temperance MI! Our team this year is around 40 students, half the team consisting of freshmen! We are attending the Detroit District this season, and we are hosting our own district in Bedford for the first time! We placed 3rd in Michigan last year, and 14th in the world. We are definitely excited for this year’s competitions, and plan on making into States, and eventually Worlds! Our robot this year is named Ms. Spocke, each letter representing an important mentor to our team. On behalf of Bedford Express, I hope to see you all at the competitions!
Speaking of Bedford (good transition :p), I’m one of the mentors for team 964 out of Bedford, OH, whose rookie year was 2003.
We had to take a hiatus due to a lack of funding, but thanks to some awesome people (including the principle!), we will be starting back up in time for the 2014 season. We attend the wonderful Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, usually placing as close to last as humanly possible. That doesn’t stop us from having fun, and maybe even learning something.
We’ve generally held around 10-20 students each year, even though the high school has over 700 students. Marketing and public awareness is something that we’re working on. In 2008 we had a short news piece on a Saturday between the Olympics which definitely got a good amount of local attention.
We’re team 3260 from the Sarah Heinz House in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is our fourth year competing and we’ve grown from about 5 members with 2 mentors to 20 members (a large portion of which is below 10th grade) with around 5 mentors. We typically only compete at the regional held at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh but this year we will also be competing at the Buckeye Regional.
We are team 706 The CYBERHAWKS from Hartland, Wisconsin! Our rookie year was 2001.
We attend the Wisconsin Regional every year (Midwest before the Wisconsin Regional was created), and for the first time in the team’s history, this year we will attend a second regional (the Buckeye Regional).
In recent years, our team has done well in competition. We have attended championships 2 times in the past 3 years. This year is shaping up to be our best season yet!
We are also increasing our outreach. My personal favorite event we attended was the pack-expo in Chicago. We were featured in first snapshots! Link
Located in Plantation, Florida, we are seven years old and have really grown in the past few years. In 2011, we won our first FRC award ever at the Orlando Regional- the Spirit Award! Although not revered by some, we love to be spirited (and everyone else loves it too!) and have won every Spirit Award since then.
In 2012 (Rebound Rumble) we made the elimination rounds for the first time ever at an official FRC event at the Orlando Regional. Then we made it again in the South Florida Regional.
This year about 60 kids and 7 mentors are going on the trip with us to Orlando next week. We will also attend South Florida later in March, and hopefully Nationals in April!
Team 573 is a combination of students from Brother Rice and Marian High Schools. We have around 30 students this year, and i believe it is the largest ratio of Newcomers to Veterans that 573 has seen; besides our rookie year ;). This is our 12th year and we are participating in the Waterford, Grand Blanc, and Bedford Districts. Currently in our arsenal, we are holding two blue banners; 2007 Great Lakes regional Winners and 2010 Ann Arbor District Winners. We were ranked 5th at MSC and 9th at Galileo in St. Louis last year.
We are Edina Robotics FIRST Team 1816 “The Green Machine”!
This is our 8th year participating in FRC after starting in 2006 and we are the oldest team in Minnesota. We have a relatively large team with 37 kids and about 15 mentors. Our website www.edinarobotics.com is filled with tons of helpful information for teams of any level and has won the website award at every regional we have attended for since 2009. We were on the wining alliance for the wisconsin regional in 2006, and have won the regional chairmans award twice, at the Minnesota regional in 2008 and at the North Star regional in 2012. We also won the regional Engineering Inspiration award at the Lake superior regional in 2011. We also participated in the first EVER state FIRST Robotics tournament that was held in Minnesota last year.
We are participating in the North star, and Lake superior regionals this year and hope to see you all in St. Louis! Checkout our website if you want even more information about us, as I could go on for pages
We are TEAM 3999-Shadetree Mechanics from Killeen,TX. The team is an independent team working out of a mentor’s garage. This is the second year for us although many of our mentors have competition experience with other teams. We were the Rookie All Star team at Alamo last year and we will be back there again this year. Our team members come from 5 different High Schools,4 different cities, and Home School.
As an update to last year, we are Team 1912 Combustion from Northshore High School in Slidell, Louisiana (30 minutes north of New Orleans). There are about 30 students and 14 mentors. Our rookie year was in 2006. We will be competing at the Bayou Regional, where we have won the Chairman’s Award the past three years, and Razorback Regional this year. http://www.team1912.com
