who works?

who all out there has atleast a summer job, or a full time job. personally i have 2, and i really hate it. i have little free time, and the jobs are not really that fun. on the plus side, the people are nice, and i do get paid. anyone else have any bad work experiences. mine is working 60 plus hours for the first time the summer after my senior year. man i need to get a life.

/me == lame.

Direct answer: I don’t have a job.

I don’t have a paying job, but I do volunteer 50 hours a week helping with the summer camps at my local Museum…I feels enough like a job though…

for 6 weeks over the summer i’m working at Brookhaven National Labs (BNL), for a science-research class. i think i get some college credit, but i don’t get paid. on the plus side, my position is federally funded, so i don’t have to pay :D. apart from those 6 weeks, i’m doing nothing, except maybe working on the robot.

Most of the time I will being working on the robot, or other various robotics projects! However, since 1999, I haved worked at a bed and breakfast. It’s not terribly hard work, until it get’s hot and mugy out here by the river. Pays not good, but probably a good learning experience.

I’m an awesome hospital worker, I work as a ā€˜Nutrition Services Aide’ , hey its $8/hours plus good benefits, I’ll take it…

Sarcastic Excitment

I work at Sears and sell shoes at 3.50 h/r base + commission

most of the time i make around 8.50+ an hr…but its so humiliating to sell shoes at Sears

I’m actually at work right now…I’m hardware support/software developer/sales for a computer store/internet provider. So that’s what I do when I’m not working with FIRST stuff…and even sometimes when I am

Well, I’m at work right now too. I am a service technician at an entertainment lighting dealer. Which basically means I get to fix really cool stuff, get to play around with the latest gadgets, as our company does a lot of field testing for manufacturers, and occasionally I get to go out to a TV studio, or a club or something for a field service call. It’s also kinda cool that they are filming Bad Boys II across the street from where I work right now. I like it, the people are cool, and I have lots of fun doing it.

Drafter in the house!!! w00t!! But seriously I work as a CAD Drafter in a company that makes microwave antennas and broadcast antennas, and all the parts in between.

I just got back from an interview for a land scaping job that pays something like 10 bucks an hour, and if that does not work throughI get to help finish furnishing the high school I’m going to be going to next year.

Humilitating horrible jobs? I win so far!
Why you ask? I work in tiny tiny ice cream booth in the mall…
That’s right, I’m an ice cream girl. Work there all year part time and full time summer. I work with my best friend and the two girls I trained. I’ve been working there for a year… min wage with no chance on increase… that’s $6.40 Canadian. Sitting in a hot, tiny hole in the wall, serving soft ice cream, with stupid customers that ask the dumbest questions ever. I’m sorry if you can’t order ice cream properly, you’re an idiot… it’s not hard. I swear, no one in this world can read. I mean yea… there are some good customers and one of my bosses rox… but, on the whole it has really given me a jaded view of society… if you’re looking for a job, don’t go into food, hunger brings out the worst in people. And remember there is only, Vanilla, Chocolate and half and half!
have fun!
hugz to all as alwayz

I got you beat

Hey I am a Cashier/Customer Service Rep/Layaway Guy @ Burlington Coat Factory it isn’t a bad place until you read the return policy : NO Cash / Charge Card Credits , Store Credit only. THe day I was Taught to do Return I made a pregnant lady cry because she wanted her money back so that has been fun fighting with people about our return policy but i am a 6ft 9in monster so remember its my way or the highway.

I work at Sears along with DJ. (Thanks to me he has a job there…lol). I hired in for the Men’s Department doing everything from a cashier, to customer assistance, to stocking stuff but thats before we spilt up into all these dumb groups. Now i’m a CMA (Customer and Merchandise Assist). Now i work in pretty much every department that has clothing (men’s and kids being my major two) stocking stuff and helping customers. For $6.25/hr its a really good job since we usually just stand there and talk to each other… And its nice that 95% of the people that work in the clothing departments are under the age of 25…it just makes the job more fun not having to work with a bunch of older people…lol

This summer I get to ā€œworkā€ for an environmental science research program through Brookhaven National Labs, which basically means I get to walk through the woods for 6 weeks risking exposure to lyme disease-carrying deer ticks. Lucky me!

Yes but the 5% of people over age 25 are mostly over age 55…and the 3 main old people are scary

But… I work at a hotel… Days Inn… Front Desk… Part Time… 7.25 an hour…

I work for The Sports Authority, and i sell shoes!!! W00t! But, for real. The job sucks, and the pay isn’t that great. 6.75/hr and i get a raise July 1…

TSA SUCKS! I DO THE MOST WORK, AND GET THE LEAST PAID IN MY STORE. If you have a TSA near you, ask where they are most busiest at, and they will say ā€œFoot Wearā€. And yes, i have facts, that i am getting paid the least…

I’m a lifegaurd at a pool. It pays $8.00 an hour and i get paid to sit in my chair and do pretty much nothign. Plus, i get to work outdoors in the pleasant Southern California weather. I am also a volunteer EMT. Now that i have my EMT certification, i am gonna try to get a job an an ambulance for American Medical Response SoCal division. They do the EMS/9-1-1 transports for the Los Angeles County Fire Dept.
