Why is'nt FIRST publishing scores?

The FIRST web site has information on who won awards at each regional, but has’nt revealed any of the scores.

What’s this all about? Are they purposly waiting to announce scores?

Why?

Patients,

I’m sure that will come eventually, just patients. I think they probably have a ton on their hands right now, so releasing specific scores is probably low on the list of things to do.

Or maybe…

it’s another one of Dean’s schemes to confuse the heck out of us…right…

I have a little insight on this. There were a few issues with the initial release of the scoring system, one appearing to be the file upload of the live scoring data. I’m not sure if this was fixed in v1.1 or not(released yesterday), but this weekend’s regionals will tell the tale…

Can’t just wait for it to come to you…gotta GO GET IT yourself!..LOL

Note how much higher VA AVE scores are compared to FL!

And if you want to help people out, particularly scouts from other teams, put your scores on your website.

Also, haven’t u noticed that the FIRST website isn’t updated much? It is only updated if something absolutely essential is required to be distributed and announced.

I think that FIRST needs to hire or get volunteers to help manage their site. Web communication is essential and since FIRST is an organization promoting technology, it makes sense to USE technology…hehe

…for the suggestion; problem in this case isn’t more people on the website, it’s the functionality in the scoring software. Our guy at Motorola does a fantastic job around what he’s got, including a full-time job, catching the flu, and developing wireless Palm scoring app. If you know volunteers that know SQLServer and MS Access inside out, he might ask to line up an additional developer or two for next year.

Results are now going up for LI (see new thread.)

If a volunteer is needed, send me a message and I’ll see what I can do! I’m a pro software developer with a lot of experience in SQL Server and Access.
