Why the pattern of naming mini-comps with initials R.R.?

So far we have had a lot of mini-comps that have begun with the letters R.R.

Rumble at the Rock (no longer being held) (MA?)
River Rage (NH)
Ramp Riot (PA)
Robot Rodeo (FL)

Did I miss any?? Is this a sign of some kind, or just a freaky coincidence?
Is it just an East Coast thing???

Has FIRST named a game with the initials R.R. yet??

edit: I guess they have. 2 in fact. 1995 - Ramp n’ Roll & 1993 - Rug Rage.

Because it rolls off the rongue?

Wetzel

well you know, everyone wants a piece of that Type-R style.

Don’t Forget the Robot Rumble a preseason scrimmage here in Orlando.

Well, I suppose a little history is in order.

In 2000 we named our comp. Ramp Riot after the small, central Ramp. We gave our comp. a game specific name, because we figured we would never be stupid enough to organize another mini-comp.

In 2001 when we figured out we WERE dumb enough to do this twice, there was yet another Ramp in the game.

The most confusing year was Ramp Riot 2002, which left many spectators looking around for a ramp.

But now that we have built a rep., we are stuck with the name.

In 2003 the RAMP was BACK!!! (Phewww!!)

For 2004 we will just pretend that the platform is a Ramp. (it kind of is by the steps)

Every year we pray that the game will involve some type of Ramp!!! (What a nightmare!!!)
