Hey everyone,
I made this thread so anyone who sees it can boast about their team.
However before you begin, you should post your team:
Name
Number
Location
I’ll start,
We are the LakeView Legends, team 1652, and we hail from Pleasant prairie W.I.
Even though this is my first year on this team(And our teams 3rd year competing) I can tell that this is going to be our best year EVER!! Since our robot is majorly air powered, and can lift 150lbs!!! It also is able to house a robot on its backside!!!
I can only explain my team in these words, **It's electrical!!**
Team Challenger!
Team # 2047!
Location, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty! Lovely Chicago in lovely Illinois!
Why we rock?
We’re a rookie team made of people who spent all of fall making D class rockets.
Our robot has a holonomic drive which allows for crazy space misadventures!
We share our workspace with a garage band and a hacker club.
I’m on it.
We’ve each got 5 lbs of sawdust and alluminum shavings in our lungs!
We’re a living example that Mac users, Linux users, and Windows users can coexist (semi) peacefully!
The members are from 5 different schools!
We have an official team scapegoat!
Personally, i dont think you should call it bragging. Bragging represents something that you think is better and superior to everyone else. This is not FIRST like. I think you should change it to “Qualities your team has and Why they rock”
1.Huskie Brigade
2. 65
3. Pontiac Michigan
This team has many great qualities. We are a very diverse team and we make sure everyone gets their share of “talk time”. No one is discriminated against because we know that everyone has good ideas. Our team has won numerous awards ( Regional chairmans and National Championship are the big ones). We are always trying to help other teams with problems they need and we always show our “GP Faces” wherever we go.
My team rocks because we do all our own work; the programming, building, designs, pubilicty…everything! All of us are so diverse, but yet we are great at working all together. We live in such a little town with hardly any support so we work really hard to be succesfull.
Well lets see:
We are team 191. The X-Cats from Rah Cha Cha New Yawk.
We rock not only because we are OF (Original FIRSTer) and because we are the only two time winner of the Chairman’s award and one of the most diverse teams in all of FIRST but also because we are mad crazy with the spirit at competition.
We tend to stick out.
We are team 1511 Rolling Thunder alsom from Rah Cha Cha New york and we rock because we are truley a family, everyone is so committed to not just our team but to FIRST, we are all hard workers, and you ask anyone on our team for a hand and they are right there jumping at the occasion to help.
Highland/Milford/White Lake/Commerce Townships/Village Michigan (We’re a big school district)
There’s a lot I could say about this team, but I think the number one reason why it rocks it because of the mentors. All of them are so amazing that they have allowed the team to get the success we have. I also think it helps having a lot of energetic students as well, but … Definately the mentors Thank you all
Well… It also rocks, because who wouldn’t want to take the HOTBot to Prom? (I would… but I don’t think the school would let me… )
We rock because at the start of the match, we routinely pick a tube up and score it in less than 10 seconds. We rock because our robot is, and always will be student built
Team Name: Gus (see story behind the name)
Team Number: 228
Location: Meriden, CT
Why our team rocks:
Because the students on our team couldn’t bear to see teams who had to leave the 2007 UTC Regional early because of the horrible snowstorm stop competing halfway through Friday’s matches, they voluntarily competed for (and repaired) two different robots, and was asked by a third to be their base driver. The inspiration and gracious professionalism from these acts was just amazing to see in our team members.
Team name: Truck Town Thunder
Number: 68
Location: Pontiac, MI
Well, we’re known for our incredibly strong drivetrain. We got 2 awards at GLR; the “Ram Tough” award, and the “Toughest Bot” award–from other teams (sorry, can’t remember who…you know who you are).
[tangent]But that’s not all. We have ridiculously dedicated mentors (one of them comes in at about 4:00 and leaves at 10:30 or 11:00). None of this would be possible at all if it wasn’t for them.
Don’t forget that you have one of the coolest mentors in FIRST, one Mr. Ken Patton, who just happened to win the Championship Woodie Flowers Award in 1999. Man you guys rock!
Our team rocks because we’ve got a huge number of students and coaches dedicated to making FIRST come to life in our school and community.
We have huge amounts of spirit (and color!).
We make a LOT of noise at competitions. (You definitely would want us cheering for your team/alliance )
Our number can rhyme with a lot of things (great, ate, mate, late  ).
We’ve been on the same plane as Woodie Flowers going down and coming back from Atlanta!
We make our own uniforms, headbands, and wristbands (with a new design every year).
AND, we’ve got the first national WFA winner, Mrs. Liz Calef, who is an awesome coach and her infectious laugh causes everyone to smile.
Why we rock? Lab coats. We are the men in white coats.
And we’re 110% student run and built. When we got our Johnson and Johnson sportsmanship award, the second trophy was supposed to be given to a mentor. As we went by, the judge holding the trophy said to the judge next to her “do they even have a mentor?” The one Mentor who we do have, Mr Randall, was up in the stands. He makes sure we get to the location, and then keeps us all sane.
Our team rocks because as seen by my signature, we have been lucky enough to make it to at least the quarter finals ONE OR MORE times each season. This year, we managed to be double regional finalists…so I’m already pumped for my Senior year next year!
