Does anyone know the width of the alignment lines? I’ve read through the Q&A and the manual and not found anything that answers this. I don’t have access to Solidworks, and I couldn’t find a STEP release of this year’s field CAD. Alternatively (and perhaps preferably), you could point me in the direction of a STEP file for this year’s field CAD.
Thanks in advance.
I read 4.2 as indicating 2” wide and 1.5’ long.
“FIELD Zones and markings of consequence are described below. Unless otherwise specified, the tape used to mark lines and zones throughout the FIELD is 2-in. (~5cm) 3MTM Premium Matte Cloth (Gaffers) Tape (GT2).”
It goes on to show a figure of the field and reference alignment lines and the 1.5’ length.
Ouch, guess I didn’t read the manual close enough. Thanks.
Took me a while to find it, myself, last week.
The tape is specified in the manual as 2 in (~5 cm) but 3M lists its “3M premium matte cloth (Gaffers) tape (GT2)” as 1.88 in. What is the correct measurement?
Is this tape readily available off-the-shelf?
Good question for official Q&A?
Correction to my earlier comment about length. I found the field layout and markings diagram, sheet 5 of which clearly shows the lengths for each alignment line, and they vary across the field.
The lengths are specified as 18" from the face of the particular location. The recess at the bottom of the loading stations and cargo ship hatches does not count in that 18" so they are longer, but underneath (the rocket has no recess, so is 18" long total).
