Windows 7 Pro Activation Key

Following kickoff, we imaged our Classmate with the given USB key. The process went fine, but when it asked for our Windows activation key, we couldn’t find one. We haven’t completed our KOP inventory count yet, but does anyone know where we can find the activation key?

Try to re-image the classmate. I just did ours and had no issues.

We’re pretty sure our imaging process went fine the first time; we have the proper Driver and Developer accounts. Our issue is our lack of a Windows Activation Code.

We’re having the same issue with our copy, we get this error when we try to activate online: 0x800732b dns name does not exist.

I keep tring to image our 2go pc (classmate) and it kepps saying Disk 0 is now the selected disk.
The Selected disk is nessasary to the operation of your computer, and may not be cleaned.

Can someone please help me?

I too am having this problem after I reimaged last year’s Classmate.

We at F.I.R.S.T Team 698 are having this exact problem. help would be greatly appreciated. thx.

First of all, your problem is that you’re running it inside of windows, you need to restart and boot to the USB Drive, while you are booting you see the 2GO PC logo you press F12 and Delete (I don’t know which one it is but it worked when I pushed them) to get to the bios setup. From there just change your boot sequence to the flash drive.

I am, however, having the same problems as everyone else. My windows 7 needs an activation key!

We too are having this problem, we were just handed the USB drive, the booting into the USB drive and reformatting the classmate went just fine but when we booted into windows it asked us to activate it and we tried but it gave us the same 0x800732b error, has anybody have luck reformatting, if so, tell us how to do it.

It’s interesting that this 0x800732b error has been so recurring for teams updating the 2010 Driver Station. We didn’t try activating online though, we just searched around in vain for the Activation Key.

Hey everybody!

So I was having similar problems (see post above) then I located the game docs on the UberBots site (http://uberbots.org/o/Resources/Files_and_Documents) and I read the setting up the driver station document which has step by step setup instructions, and all the files required are on the site. Enjoy

For anyone still having the activation problem, just run the “Classmate_Update.bat” file which is located at the KoP website here.

It’s the “Classmate Update” link under the Control System section.

Is usfirst.org not still down for everybody? Do you have a copy of this batch file?

When I did this process for my team, I booted from the USB and got to the main screen which showed that the windows is not genuine. Then I did the whole process again thinking it would fix the problem. But it did not.

Then the message about activating online came up and I clicked activate online. When I downloaded the Microsoft plug in and ran it, it showed my windows is genuine and the messages went away.

Also tried to download the pdf for the KOP from this site and could not. pdf is corrupted. Tried on my nook and pc. pdf won’t open on either.

The same thing happened to me, going to the website located here:

fixed the problem.

We were able to get on though the site is still slow. The .zip is attached.

I haven’t tried it, but it looks like you can get that batch file here:

Could the product keys being used be the same? I reimaged mine early in the day right after kick-off and it activated with no troubles. Microsoft may be getting confused with the mass of activation requests using the same product key… mind you that i am merely speculating, and do not know anything at all about how FIRST uses the image keys…::rtm:: I’ll do some more research as i do not know how the KMS works either.

If i remember correctly, KMS = Key Management Server and a corporation (FIRST) can host it to authenticate its clients (Us with the classmates) and after the kickoff, the mass influx of activation requests overloaded that server thus the 0x8007232B (DNS Error) Error.

Just speculation though, remembered most of that stuff after i got home.
