hello i have been trying to get the classmate through the router to communicate with the robot. so basically,
computer communicating with the router that is on the robot with the bridge.
I have modified the router settings so that the computer links with the router wirelessly and it works and have video feedback but the DS says no enet link which i would expect, but how do i get the DS to let me enable the robot?
You could try disabling the ethernet port on the DS. Not sure if that would fix it, but the DS software might look for it on the wireless then.
Would that be disabling the local area connection or is there another way?
Yes, that’s disabling the local connection.
Thats what i thought and no it was still looking for an enet link.
has anyone gotten the wireless operation to work?
p.s. even plugged in it would not give comms till the wireless was disabled
The Driver Station needs the appropriate IP address in order to communicate with the robot. To run wirelessly, try setting the wired LAN connection to use DHCP (“obtain address automatically” or something like that) and set the wireless LAN connection to use the 10.X.Y.5 address. You might also have to disable the wired connection completely to keep the DS application from trying to reconfigure it.
I got it to work by switching the local to dhcp thanks Alan.
Now is there anyway to eliminate the bridge from the equation?
Put the wireless router on the robot.
I already did that but Can I plug the crio into the wireless router?
Yes, plug the cRIO directly into the router. The DS will complain that it can’t ping the bridge on the diagnostics tab, but that’s just diagnostics, it doesn’t affect the operation.
Great thanks all
