I am from team 1413 and we are currently in the process of setting up our wireless connection between the Classmate and Bridge. Our code works and robot functions perfectly when directly wired. We have reset the bridge and reconfigured everything. Our Classmate will not detect the wireless connection. We are in a predicament where no one really knows where to go from here. If anyone has encountered the same problems and has overcome them or if anyone just knows the solution, our team would greatly appreciate the assistance. Thank You!
If it’s in bridge mode, you cannot connect to it wirelessly right now. Use AP mode. Bridge mode is for competition only.
We had a somewhat similar problem at first. From what you are saying, it sounds like the problem could be one of three things:
-
You have the d-link set to bridge or auto mode. On the switch in the back, check to make sure it is set to AP mode. This is for working on the robot at home. It will be set to bridge at the competition.
-
Your 802.11 Band (d-link) is set to 5.0 ghz. Check and make sure it is set to 2.4 ghz.
-
Check the ip of your computer. it should be 10.14.13.9 or higher. I generally keep mine at 10.xx.yy.51 .
I have a question related to the d-link in bridge mode. What, if anything, will we need to change on the Classmate for competition? I know the d-link will be reset for bridge mode, but do we need to change any of the IP addresses in order to connect to the competition router, and if we do, what should they be?
You should not have to do anything other than make sure your switch is in bridge mode.
