Wiring Limelight without PDP

Sorry, that’s not legal either, per R48:

The VRM supplying power to the Wireless Bridge per R47 must be connected to the designated supply terminals at the end of the PDP, and not the main WAGO connectors along the sides of the PDP as shown in Figure 9-12. With the exception of a single CTR Electronics Pneumatics Control Module (PCM, P/N: am-2858), no other electrical load shall be connected to these PDP terminals.

What about in the limelight documentation where the specifically call out not wiring the limelight to the VRM?

https://docs.limelightvision.io/en/latest/getting_started.html#wiring

It states that you don’t need a VRM to power the LimeLight. But the VRMs do provide better power regulation and it allows you to plug in other devices, like LEDs.

@Peter_Johnson you are correct and I corrected my post.

@pinkdragon You are going to have to reduce a motor to plug in your additional electronics. You can per Q151 connect two motors of the same type to the same controller. This could eliminate one breaker freeing it up for your other electronics.

Actually, it specifically says in multiple places not to wire the limelight to the VRM.

The limelight has its own voltage regulation.

Yeah, if you read through the limelight docs, I posted in my original comment, it very explicitly states don’t use the VRM, probably because its more than just LEDs, its a camera and a co processor as well.

@Tom_Line @JCook
You are correct, there is no need to UNLESS you want to run additional devices. Lets say you want your LimeLight and Two LEDs stands. You can power all three devices via the VRM and one breaker. Otherwise, you are using two or more breakers.
