So Team 1918 has some really awesome plans for this summer. We are going to have the first of a possible annual Picnic and we would like to have a lot of people from across West Michigan show up. The picnic will be along the coast of Lake Michigan, exact place to be determined later. Please comment on any possible questions / ideas you may have. Or just to let us know your interested. More Details to be determined later.
Sounds like a blast! Wish I was from Michigan! :ā(
Sounds like an awesome idea! I donāt have any suggestions right now, but Iāll certainly think about it.
That would be awesome, the time we shared on the bus with 3357 was great. It would be amazing if you guys were to show up.
Sounds awesome. I will see if my team is interested. You guys need any BOB rags?
lol u can never have to many bob rags, keep me updated
Hey, maybe some teams around here can get together and head down to the shore to do the same thing?
Nothing says we can party on the shores of Long Island Sound
(My Apologies from straying away from the Michigan Even)
Can you set up a Twitter account of frc1918 or perhaps you already have one? Then you could keep us informed of the plans. More and more teams are standardizing (we are frc548, Frog Force frc503, Killer Bees frc33, HOT frc67, Mech Warriors frc573, etc.) Maybe some of us from the east side can take a vacation out west with you! ::safety::
Speaking for 2075 I believe we would be interested, and when you make better plans. (more concrete) I would love to bring it forward to the team.
Youāre forgetting about the team that had a twitter long before all of this āStandardizationā became popular :P; @Team201
Youāre forgetting about the team that actually has a guy dedicated to updating the twitter, regardless of wifi situation. @2337
As for the proper purpose of this thread⦠That sounds like fun! Iāll talk to our team leaders about it.
@2337 and 201ā¦Sorry to you guys and to the others that I lumped under āetc.ā! I was just rattling numbers off the top of head. ::ouch::
I do have to give a shout out to 33 and 1114 for their tweets during the Championships. Not only did I immediately know their match results and seeding points because of their tweets, I was also aware when the Bees stopped their bus at a rest stop and put antennas on Coppioliās vehicle!
Back to the topic, itās a great way for teams to communicate about getting together on the West side of MI!
Well I might start a Twitter for our team, as far as i know we do not have one. We are having a team banquet within the next couple of weeks were we will finalize our plans for WMRRP and if other teams can drive to the west side of the state, we would be happy to see you here!
Im cool with this idea, so long as 397 can hop on over, we may not be a West MI team but we spend enough time over thereā¦
(And no, 397 does not have a twitter account.)
Team 1918 doesnāt have a twitter, but we do have a facebook group:

Could i propose Grand haven? A pic of a gazillion FIRSTers lined up heading out to the lighthouse would be super cool. In fact, maybe there should be a Grand Haven District event⦠Sometime around Week 12ā¦
I would like to suggest Holland, we have 5 teams and also have a lighthouse. I think it about time for West Michigan teams to organize. I been in FIRST a long time and I am sad to say until the past year our team has done very little with the other teams from this area. There are so many new teams that I would like to meet. Last year 2771, 1918, 74, 141, 85⦠These were just numbers. I think in ten, eleven or heaven forbid fifteen more year in FIRST I will not remember matches won or lost or even what years robots did what. But, I still remember the friends I made at Harper College in 1997 and look forward to seeing them every year. Needless to say, I think the Idea of a Picnic is a great Idea. And if there is anything I or Team 107 can do to make it happen we would be happy to help.

Then maybe afterward we go to 141ās bot cave and play a round of laser tag at the Lost City like that one night in off-season.
I think it should be around the time of WMRIā¦like that weekend so I only have to make one trip.
I donāy know about you, but swimming in Lake Michigan in October is not my idea of fun.
But a post WMRI team social? maybe in the same gym after we clean it up? if you have a Team social after clean up, clean up becomes a lot less of a hassle for the teams running it, and adds another reason for more teams to come.
