I knew that the xbox controllers aren’t able to communicate with the DS. But now that the DS is replaced with a laptop, would that open the door to driver required controllers?
As long as it’s a wired-USB controller, you should be able to use it. I think one of the beta test teams successfully tried an xbox controller with the new DS.
yeh… i heard they made it work pretty easily
i think they were how to fix the configuration
of the two joining up:confused:
Yes, they did. You simply need to install the Windows drivers for it from Microsoft.
We are thinking about doing the same thing.
Does anyone have any input has to special uses (ik the xbox controler can sense different amounts of pressure on the buttons)
The reason Xbox 360 controllers did not work with the previous DS is because they use a nonstandard HID protocol. This year, as long as you have DirectInput drivers for your pad installed, they will work.
i heard they are nearly expensive even on E-BAY
but i know they are easy to work
:yikes:
The xbox controller can’t tell how hard you are pushing the buttons. It can only tell how hard you are squeezing the triggers and movin the joysticks. Maybe I should make a class for the xbox controller with better labeled buttons, so you can say the “a” button instead of a number.
We have the correct drivers for the computer to recognize the controller, but we can’t get it to work in LabVIEW. Any tips?
Now are we talking about the xbox 360 controllers or the xbox original controllers? Because the original controllers are fairly cheap and very easy to mod to work for windows xp, at this moment i am using one as a mouse, but I have yet to see one used for a controller for their robot.
