XRC Simulator VR broken in 2023?

Since there was no VR field provided by AutomationDirect this year, I was wondering if anyone had been able to get the VR aspect of XRC simulator working recently. Whenever I click Windows VR: Start, in XRC, the XRC menu opens in VR correctly but as soon as I go to play single player it opens SteamVR home and does not open the main XRC game in VR. I am on Quest 2 and tried virtual desktop and airlink to no avail. Any help or alternative VR fields for the upcoming year would be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to get more tech help on the xRC discord.

From what I’ve seen it is supposed to work with xRC but I haven’t tried it this year.

Thanks for the link, I’ll send a message out over there and see if they have any deeper insights into the issue!

I got the VR side to work using a Quest II and the following steps (others may work too but I didn’t test):

  1. Install Oculus PC Desktop client on VR capable PC
  2. Setup Oculus Desktop to use a Oculus link cable
  3. Install and start xRC Simulator
  4. Inside simulator on main menu select Settings/Video
  5. Press Windows VR button
  6. Put headset back on and enjoy

(only issue that and I some others have encountered is the playing field is a bit tilted)

Yep, when I posted on the discord they seemed to realize that it was a application side error. They realized there was a pretty easy fix and corrected it right before the game was actually revealed. Have tested it myself now and at least as of version 10.0b it is working fine (I did notice the tilt too but it’s not too bad).
