but the funnist thing was when i went into one of those snotty stores w/ a snotty girl looking at me, w/ a "like ‘ew’"look (all this happend when i had to go shopping for the nat.s) i turned to my mom,‘hey can we go to walmart?’
haha, that was the best, should have seen their faces…’
brands like o.n. aren’t bad, because most of their stuff is resonably priced, and a lot doesn’t have ‘Old Navy’ plasted all over it. GAP isn’t that bad, but it’s a bit expensive sometimes. as long as it’s a good shirt or pants though, i don’t mind paying a bit more than it costs. heck, if it lasts me two years, it’s probably worth like $50 :D.
I wear some A&F, i admit…but mostly i go in there and buy stuff when i have been given gift cards from my friends/family for christmas/birthday or i go to the sales table and you can usually find some cheap stuff over there…I agree a lot of their stuff is overpriced but then again department stores clothes are just as expensive it seems like

**If u guys think this about A&F, are your thoughts similar for stores like American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, GAP, Old Navy?
Just wondering. **
I don’t have an Aeropostale or Hollister in my area so I don’t wear there clothes…I have bought a few things from American Eagle like a pair of shoes which i have abused throughly and they have held up for at least 2 years now so I don’t care that i spent $60 on them and a few shirts here and there that were on sale.
I like Old Navy b/c the clothes aren’t that expensive and for the most part they hold up except the only O.N. near me is like 45 minutes away so I don’t feel like going out there too often to get clothes though…
Huh. But have you guys noticed the new children’s thongs A&F is making for girls age 7-10? Only a bit disturbing… until you throw in the fact that these CHILDREN’S thongs say things like “sexy” and “eye candy.”
IsabelRinging and Yearbook50…it’s up to us women to NOT TO BUY CRAP LIKE THAT. for our daughter’s sake…i know ya’ll don’t have a daughter yet (at least i don’t think you do) but some day you may.
what a warped mind to think of something like that.
seriously, what parent would buy there child of 7-10 that underwear…since hopefully these girls wouldn’t be off shopping by themselves anyway at that age
unfortunately some parents just don’t think. for some reason some people forget that children are not little adults. they need to be protected from some of the crap out there.
all children should be allowed to be children…but you really don’t want to get me started.

Yeah, I’ve never liked Abercrombie … American Eagle is a little better, but I never buy clothes there … Never heard of Hollister… Aeropostale bothers me; my cousin who is like, a size -1 shops there cause she can’t find clothes small enough anywhere else but we don’t have an Aeropostale in Wisconsin so I (obviously) don’t shop there … Gap is ok, I just think their clothes are ugly … I shop at Old Navy (Just bought a really cute dress there for $18! Woo hoo!). But usually I buy my clothes at Kohls, Deb, Vanity PacSun and sometimes Sears. I used to shop at Limited because they made jeans short enough to fit me! But then they started to get ridiculously expensive and then stopped selling jeans all together.
Oh, that whole children’s thong thing? That’s just wrong.
u people finally got the point y i started this!
that kind of… poopy…
the kid thongs… ok, its wrong enough for them to have it…
but y does it have things written on it?
what 7-10 year old (should be) going 'round showing off what it
says on their undergarments??
i mean, really…
then we sit here and wonder where all these pedophilic things / thoughts start off at…
samething w/ the shirts - i thought we were trying to STOP racism - okok, when ur j/king around w/ ur friends, it might be cool, everyones’k w/ it, but when people start boycotting stores, should it be stopped?
I’m half Asian, and as far as the “racist” shirts go they don’t really bother me. I would even go so far as to say I find them slightly amusing. But I’m sure a lot of people would NOT feel the same way I do.
It’s pretty obvious A&F is doing all this for attention. Like they say, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.”
I don’t shop there solely because of the prices (and now, the children’s thong thing). I wouldn’t be like, “Ugh, I won’t shop here because all the stupid preps shop here.” I could care less about the store’s reputation. I’m not worried about my clothing, as long as it looks decent, fits me, and is cheap.
I feel obliged to add that Bealls Outlet and TJ Maxx are stores of the gods.
What pisses me off is that people sit in Congress and say that video games, TV, and movies cause over sexualtiy, and here we have A&F selling thongs to 7 year olds. Come on!
video games, TV, and movies
desensitize us into thinking well i guess this is ok. after seeing something so much the initital shock just isn’t there. its a very easy lull to get into… i know i’m just a guilty of this as anyone else.
i think if we all try to be true to what we know is right then we could solve a lot of problems. in other words-don’t be afraid to say what you believe to be right , morally and ethically.
i think first does a wonderful job of promoting this.

Now THAT is just inherently wrong. **
Is that the R. Kelly collection you are referring to?!??!
my school has a ‘quarterly’ school newspaper. we just got the final one of the school year today. as iwas reading it, i noticed one of the articles in the viewpoints section was pretty much this exact thread :D. seems that we’re not the only ones with a dislike for a&f. it actually even mentioned something about the children’s thongs, although it said it was for ages 10 - 14, but seeeing what a&f has done, i’m not surprised if they have 7 - 10 thongs also.
