You know you're in Texas when...

Ok…So I want to know what yall outside of Texas think of us. I start off…

You know you’re in Texas when:

You can drive for 2 days and not leave the state.
You have tumbleweed races.
You make everything bigger just because you can.

So…true or not, lets hear 'em, y’all!

-Bill

When you know it’s 100 C outside
When you smell BBQ

You have spanish band masses…
Your state icon “the alamo” is in the middle of downtown…
You have more than your fair share of Garden Ridge’s.

(then again, I’ve only really visited San Antonio)

Everyone drives a truck and everyone owns a gun.

EDIT: Oh, and everythigng runs off of (in a Hank Hill voice) propane and propane accessories.

You can find that in certain parts of Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana :stuck_out_tongue:

You pass a sign every 2 miles promoting “If you can eat a 50 oz steak in one sitting, it’s FREE!”

… when you are driving by the astrodome and realize… thats the place you had to run up and down those 7, 8 ramps with your bot…

when you see Bush slacking off at his ranch :stuck_out_tongue:

Everyone dislikes New Yorkers??? :ahh:

Those darn New Yorkers…

pouts

Well, I guess I’m not completely

I was born in Texas :stuck_out_tongue:

sorry for the hijack, John

You pass 30 “Whataburgers” in one town, or at least one a block. whichever’s more. Starting at the moment you cross the border from Arkansas (but probably from every entrance point in the state). :stuck_out_tongue:

Mmmm… Whataburgers… Why did I have to move to New York?

… wants one now …

That, and half-decent barbeque, and a few other things I really miss

That, and half-decent barbeque, and a few other things I really miss

Half decent?! We got the best in the world, I reckon!! Where in TX are you from?

Ok…a couple more:

You’ve actually been asked if you ride a horse to school.
When you’ve actually ridden a horse to school.
Where else is it legal to shoot anyone that comes onto your property?!

-Bill

You’ve just out run a Tornado across the southern US (specificaly Meridian, Mississippi) to make it inside “Texan Parameters”.

…wow, what a journey to 2003 Championships :ahh:

‘Riginally from D/FW. And the half-decent was more in detriment to the local fare - nothin’ remotely good 'round these parts.

When you are driving down the road and you see THIS!

When you see the eiffel tower …

… with a cowboy hat on top.

[edit] My boyfriend took a co-op in Paris, Texas last semester and when he told me he was going to take pictures of the eiffel tower, I didn’t believe him. Sure enough, a few hours later I had pictures of him standing in from of “The Tower”[/edit]
