You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

you know you’ve overdosed on FIRST when…

robotics becomes more stressful than school, but you keep going because you love FIRST.

you and your mentors have to debate for over 2 hours about whether you want to go the State Championship and save money for next year’s team or go to the World Championship.

when even in college,… your dormates are sick of you telling them stories about Atlanta,… they “could have sworn they went with you” they heard the stories soo much,

when you anticipate the Kick off more than your dad anticipates the Super Bowl

When even though you cant drive you still envision yourself during build season testing a prototype.

You know you’ve overdosed on FIRST when, after long Parent/Advisor/Scout meeting on Philmont, you findout someone on your crew is going to be on one of three rookie FRC teams in Sheboygan.

P.S. I really hope they get a lot of help, and not just from Team 93!

When all through the Frontier Trails BEST competition you are hoping for January 9th.

You then get yelled at for bringing it up.

When you participate in Fantasy FIRST drafts

When you have to get a surgery and the only times they have open are christmas break or build season and you chose to have it over christmas.

you plan robotics fundraising events over Christmas break so you can help your team go to Worlds

you think of fundraising ideas in your sleep

you go on a college visit and your tour guide is a FIRST alumni… you high five when you discover this fact and then procede to talk about all the different competitions you have been too and what the best game was. you then continue talking about all the different competitions you have won at that particular college and why you are so excited to go there in the fall

You leave your team go to a college five hours away &:

It takes you two weeks into the semester to start organizing a FIRST support organization called GO FIRST (Group Organization for FIRST) & attend a RPC meeting in Minnesota.

You visit home only when there are important Saturday robot events.

You find all the area community demo days and attend as many as possible.

You start applying FIRST to things you learn in your Scientific and Technical Communications class.

You make your support group official before the end of the semester is up.

You present a seminar at Minnesota Splash on Chairmans & convince your best friend from your old team to visit that weekend so she can go to the strategy seminar.

You realize that all this happened **because robot withdrawal is being experienced. **

You see a Facebook status saying “DA BEARS SUCK”, and you have to read it (in shock) three times before realizing that it is not referencing a team, but is rather your cousin illiterately complaining about the Chicago Bears.

when 75% of your Google contacts are from FIRST and CD

When your definition of a good friday and saturday is spending 8 hours watching movies on thebluealliance.net and 12 hours sleeping…probably won’t have one of those until april when robotics starts winding down.

When you hear your old high school won the FTC Championship and JUMPED OUT OF YOUR CHAIR in excitement. I’ve got an old teacher to thank.

when your team number is the screensaver on your phone

When you go to a holiday party generously sponsored by your boss, decline beer offered by your boss, drink one Coke and say you have to leave because you are going to school to give hands on training on power tools to your FIRST team.
You get to school and realize that there are only four students there because everyone else took the training you gave the day before. (The plan was to split the group of students into three sessions, but everyone was too excited and they had to attend first available session).

You come back home and proceed to make up stories about what happened at the holiday party because you promised your wife not to spend more than one night per week at the school during off season.

when you spend your weekend writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper on behalf of your team

when you plan on rooming with a friend from another FIRST team at college

when you call your boss and start talking about fundraisers for robotics and they think it is the most natural thing in the world

when you convince your boss to help with your team’s fundraisers

when you have your mentors’, co-captain’s, and other teams’ captain’s cell phone numbers memorized from calling them so frequently

when your work schedule is based off when you don’t have robotics meetings

when you get special discounts for the amounts of hair dye and gel you buy just because of competition season

when you and your best friend are both captains of different teams and you joke about how finals will go at specific competitions

When you have spent you whole Christmas Eve trying to figure out the game hint.

From church.

HAHAHA funny!

When at your own Christmas party your on Chief. *Sigh, if they didn’t move to australia I wouldn’t be on here… THANKS SARAH!!!

Glad to help!

When you are looking at CD (more than once…) on Christmas Day!!!

When you spend more time on Christmas day on CD and FIRST website than you do playing with your new gadgets.

When you list a game hint with your presents when people ask you what you got for Christmas.
