I know that 2194 made the top cover of their robot out of printed cardboard. I was actually pretty surprised that it didn’t get trashed, considering the hole in the top of our bot from someone’s wheel.

At your back to school rave, you and your robotics friends hear the beginning of ‘Satisfaction’ and get very excited only to realize its a rap remix. And then you and your friends rant to your mother about them only playing top 40 
When you see a group of people in matching shirts you immediately think of being at a FIRST competition, and your sister knows you’re about to scream your teams song to see who calls back and she stops you so you won’t embarrass her.
It was worth it, although the group didn’t call back and skirted away as quickly as they could.

That’s why our robot is protected with 3/8in thick bulletproof Lexan. That’s 50% thicker than what MythBusters used to use.
What’s your team song? Ours is “A Team.” That would seem pretty obvious to anyone who has been to a competition with us, as our main team chant involves yelling the letter “A” repeatedly.
When you begin immediately thinking higher of an entire city because of the FIRST competition it hosts
when you realize that you can’t remember the names of the mascots of your school’s rivals (or any other school in the area) despite having played with the pep band for every home football and basketball game for the past 3 years, yet FRC team mascots come readily to mind
When you are defragging the team laptop and you discover that a file is contained within 399 fragments.
When you are cleaning out said laptop and you discover there are 399 megabytes of files in the recycle bin.
When you notice the above, then make it a point to post it on CD before bed.
When you can no longer play soccer normally because you now have a tendency to stay on one side of the field and wait for the ball and won’t move up the field.
