You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

…you keep thinking your team should try to get Harbor Freight as a sponsor, because in every ad (and I’ve been getting a lot of them lately), they say they have 330 stores.

…the fact that Harbor Freight has 330 stores is starting to drive you crazy.

When your brother pretends to put on a bib, and you go, “That was so 2008.”

When your friends ask when you will have free time, you reply “May,” and they just stare at you…

This is so true.

When you start to notice team numbers in the mileage of your family’s new car.

and you try to drive said car as much as possible so that you can be driving when said car hits 2345 miles, so i can pull over and take a picture of it.

When you secretly wish your niece had picked a different day to get married so you wouldn’t miss River Rage.

When you spend the entirety of a 9 hour plane trip to CA (from rural VA) making plans for a robot you want to build.

when you’re running airfoil simulations in engineering and produce an airfoil with a coefficient of lift of 0.399, and immediately have to tell your robotics buddies about it since it’s the team you won regionals with rookie year

when you jump on CD in the middle of class while working on said simulations to share

when you’re now trying to make an airfoil with a lift coefficient of 2.996, or some other number with the same sequence

I’m still waiting…

When your countdown clock is at 107 days, 18 hours, 0 minutes, 7 seconds, 6 seconds, 5, 4, 3…

When you start rewriting Lady Gaga songs about FIRST…here’s what I’ve got so far…

Favorite FIRST Team
(To the tune of Paparazzi)

We are the crowd
We’re c-coming out
Got my buttons its true
Need that button from you
It’s so magical
Your robot is unbeatable

I got my team shirt
signed by Woody and Dean
I’m so fabulous
With glasses of safety
They don’t have a price
Ready for the green field light

'Cuz you know that baby I
I’m your biggest fan
I’ll follow you until you love me
You’re my favorite FIRST team

Baby, we’ll be famous
Chase you down until you choose me
I’ll accept graciously

Promise I’ll play fine
But I won’t stop until that banner’s mine

Baby we’ll be famous
Chase you down until you love me
You’re my favorite FIRST team

when your able to convince your tennis team that you got traded to another FRC team and are transferring out at the end of the semester all because you wore another team’s shirt besides your own

Building the kit chassis from last year for prototyping drive trains for 2011…in your room.

you take your robot to a soccer game and make a jersey that fits over your robot to look like a person and you change the team number to “Kick hard, sorry ;), I’ll run over you, and GGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!” (and take out their best player from behind to get a red card! =P)

When you keep an eye on this thread for months so you can post your team number… and are then angry that you missed it because you had to go get a haircut.

(Poor post #2429 - we were never meant to be.)

Also, when you’ve gone to college and you’re happy that a significant portion of your classmates were also FIRST members. Yeah!

When you try to think of posts for this thread so it might someday get to your team number… (C’mon guys, it can’t be that hard to get to 3,132 posts!!!)

When you remember that you should get on CD again and facepalm and smack yourself for forgetting in the first place becuase this site is a place that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Also, when you spend 12 hours a day for six days straight staring at Inventor and hoping that it will go faster so you can finish the redesign of a drive system (Crab drive in my case) so that at the next meeting you have something awesome to keep the design team going during the summer (My plan didn’t work due to a lack of communication).

No matter how the word “first” is used you always think of FIRST.

When I am looking forward toward the FIRST season than the football game on friday… I am pretty burnt out from Football, I chose it will be my last year, and do Robotics all through my second half of my Junior year to graduation

when you spent 6 tiresome(but still amazing) weeks building a robot and still decided to compete at one(or more) regionals with your team, volunteer at 3+ other regionals as well as champs, get home and wonder what you’re gonna do until january…

…When the “Army of Sum” patch/sticker has gone thgough the wash so many times on your jacket that it is now fused to it…

 So true…
